so.. last October I went to a medical center to get the vaccination supplement filled.. I went to the little room and I asked the doctor I need the shots.. he told me 'u have to go to the health dept, they'll give u the shots and just come back and I'll sign the form'.. ok I did that.. I payed 100 bucks for that after I got my free shots.. (yea, 100 just for writing stuff in a paper)

yesterday I got another bill from them for extra 150.. I asked #######?! they told me it was for the physical, I told them I never had a physical and just got my forms filled.. but they said 'well, u had contact with the doctor, what he did inside the room I don't know' so I was arguing hey I never got a physical, he told me 'just go get ur shots'.. and well.. after 10 minutes in the phone they just said 'yeah, the immigration procedure is 250 no matter what.. even if its just to fill a form'..

I got ganked so bad by them.. I hate America's Health system... so I'll have to get in their freakin pay program cuz im not gonna pay 150 straight..

sigh..

fortunately.. it's just once.. but I'll find a way so American can pay me back LAWL

What a rip-off. I am finding, after reading posts about civil surgeons, that the U.S. government has issued a license to steal to these bastards! That $250 thingy is a crock, we only paid about $70 and that was with the Doc interviewing Claudeth.

It all depends on where you go, every health department is different. And usually the health department will charge you a doctors visit fee even just for seeing the doctor for 5 minutes or less. Its like when you go to the ER, theres an ER fee, DRS fee, PARKING fee, and if you use an ambulance they have a fee as well.

I have a family doctor, who will do Ed's medical stuff for $50. It just all depends on where you go, if your USC has a family doctor then it would be the #1 place to go because he knows your USC and can get buy without all the extra fees and really can understand the finacial strain this process can cause.

But ANYTIME you go to the Health Department, expect some kind of extra charge for seeing the dr.

well the shots were free.. I wasn't charged for that.. the charge was for the certified surgeon that has to sign the vacc supplements.. which was a private place.. no in the health dept they didn't charge jack.. but there in Fayettenam they don't have a certified surgeon in the health dept

That's a nice thought - but everything for immigration has to be done at a panel physicians office or whatever they call those doctors chosen by the USCIS to extort money for immigration medicals.

the entire medical system is like that, not just the civil surgeons. My husband had surgery done at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem in Dec. 2004 and we know we've paid all that's owed them, but they keep sending more and more bills and then it goes to collection, and then they send more bills and around in circles we go. Every time he calls them and says "hey, we've paid this already!" they say "oh well, now its the bill for the university" or or or

Its all a load of bullpuckies if ya ask me :P

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

This is such a rip! Why are there such as thing as a civil surgeon anyway? I was starting to wonder of some of the ones we called were really doctors and you should see their place of business. Many are very, lets say, old offices. Heck, the insulation in some of these places is probably asbestos.

yes, its the reason i made him my family doctor over 3 years ago, when me and my fiance decided to discuss this whole process.

I agree, they do this way too often. I had my son at the Univeristy hospital here in my city almost a year ago, and i am STILL getting bills for stuff i already paid for. Im just glad i kept the receipt for everything. Ive had to go up there 3 times now and show them all of my medical records "see this was paid for this and that, stop sending me bills."

what REALLY pissed me off though is when i was charged $250 for a circumcision on my son and he was never circumsized at all. (my fiances request teehee). When i saw that on the medical bill i almost killed someone. My sister had this kinda stuff happen to, where they charged her $10,000 for the use of an incubator, and her son was never even near one.

I think they think we just dont look at these things. But if you have to pay for it strait outta your pocket, hell yea we look at the little details.
