Here, here! Just because we have husbands with quirks doesnt mean we dont enjoy every minute of them (L) . Im tickled pink to have my hubby and wouldnt trade him for anything in the world, crazy habits and all.

If I thought Bassi was perfect I wouldn't want to marry him, cause I"d know that I don't really know him. He's not God. He's just my sweetie. His habits are what make him unique and special. And they make me smile to think about them. They also kind of make me miss him. But it's definitely nice to remember fighting with him over my towel when he has his own. Or choking with tears streaming down my face because I took a bite of his food that was tasted like the very fires of hell. I know I'll have a ton more happy memories in the future. I can't wait! Oh USCIS, give me my approval, I miss my Bassi. :crying:

I hated shopping with my husband in Jordan. It litterally took him over 30 minutes to choose a pair of socks. I finally had to threaten to get angry at him if he didn't just get a pair of socks for GODS sake! LOL

Now that he is going to be here in just a matter of days, I am not looking forward to shopping with him here in the US. Wonder if I can avoid it?

Avoid Walmart.

My husband gets antsy and irritated if we are in ANY store for more than 20 minutes. I DEFINITELY can't go clothes shopping with him. We tried it once and we fought because he isn't patient enough with me. But, I can't shop in Egypt by myself, so now I take a female friend/family member with us & he stands outside until we are done!

OK, I don't get this. My sweetie is a footballer. He plays for hours banging around on the field. Trains every morning on the beach, running often for hours as well. (I hate exercise by the way.) BUT...when we go shopping, he's like in the WORST shape of his life. He's tired after moments and is always asking me if I'm done yet and don't I have what I want yet.....It's crazy. He says I exhaust him when I'm shopping, even if I'm buying things for him too. He carries my bags and follows me around and lets me have anything I want.......... thinking, I'm sure, that I'll leave the store if he buys everything they sell.

Maybe it's the fluorescent lighting in the stores? They effect me really bad because I have an autoimmune disease. I can be outside or in my house fine but when I go into a place like Walmart or Target I'm only good for about twenty minutes.

 I think we need a thread about that too. Cause I know I drive my husband crazy with some of the things I do.

This thread was more fun without the drama, so I'm just going to ignore it.

I once asked Bassi what things I do that annoy him. He didn't hesitate to "breathe" before he told me. Boy, did I know he loved me as he told me his pet peeves with what I do. My Bassi loves his crazy Zainab. :luv: We're two peas in a pod currently separated by the Atlantic.

I wish. No, he does it in open air markets....fabric stores...the grocery store....he pretty much does it anywhere. The only positive is that we have a mall here near my house that has sofas and big screen tvs showing sports so I can set him up there and just keep stopping by to drop off bags. He and the other husbands bond over football and wondering how much money their women are spending. :innocent:

it's like all you girls are married to my Khaled, LOL omg the stories are so funny.

The thing I hate that my Habibi does is......when we are eating he has a tendency to eat with his mouth open and he makes all these chewing noises, grrrrrrr........when we are in a resturant and he starts that I give him the "I'll kill you look" and he'll give me the puppy eyes and start chewing very slowly with his mouth closed. It's so cute when he realizes he EATING LIKE AN ANIMAL!

Your habibis all crack me up--they sound so much like mine!

My life was so orderly and predictable--then I married a crazy Moroccan!

I honestly believe his quirks are a big part of his charm (F)

Now if I can only get him to:

  • clean the kitchen WHILE cooking his typical feasts
  • take his shoes off where i'm not likely to trip over them
  • put his keys in the same place every day so he doesn't lose them AGAIN!
  • keep track of his spending (yeah, plastic money sure spends easily)
then life will be smooth!

Oh I wish my husband had a spending problem. 1) He wants to have credit cards but is scared to use them. 2) He is sooo cheap - if he's shopping and finds a hat he likes for $2 on clearance he will call me and ask if he should buy it. When I say yea go ahead why not, he makes it a point to deliberate about it and weigh the negatives and positives etc. etc. OMG shoot me it's $2 if you don't like it it's not like we're out a fortune. 3) He WILL NOT ever buy something without asking my opinion first, even if it's a surprise for me!!!! This makes me bonkers!

LOL Ramy ruins a lot of his own damn surprises because he's so cute I can't really keep secrets from him. I try, but then he guesses and while I'm debating whether I should lie and say he's wrong, he's figured out that silent pause means he guessed right. damn! :luv:

And then it drives me nuts that he always surprises me with something yet I can't really seem to surprise him.

I did notice though that if I'm really obvious about something, he doesn't figure it out. Like I called him from Best Buy in the middle of his night when I was shopping for his birthday present and I wanted to know if he had it already. The conversation was something like this.

Me: "Hi honey! I know it's like 1 in the morning but do you have any Shakira CDs?"

Him: "No...why?"

Me: "Oh...no reason..."

-pause-

Him: "Is that all you were calling about?"

Me: "Um...I think so."

Divorced. To hell with him.

Gosh my husband is perfect too, and so am I. So therefore I will not post what drives me crazy cuz you know we both are sooo perfect. That dang perfect pampered ME arab male :luv:

Never said any husband was perfect. Some husbands may not have any problem with this thread and see it as a lighthearted jab at their quirks. BUT many MENA men would be embarrassed. Let your husbands read this thread and come to their own conclusions. I wont be posting not because my husband is perfect, but because of respect.

My husband has read this thread. Wasn't embarassed in the least. He thought a lot of the things were funny to be exact, and could see himself in some of the things the ladies posted. Why should the truth be embarassing nothing disrespectful about it. If people want to share their little pet peeves they have about their husband so what? You shouldn't worry about what other wives say about their husbands or fiances because they don't live in your house. I am sure you are speaking for a minority when you say "BUT many MENA men would be embarrassed?

mybackpages speaks for my husband too in this instance, which is why i would never post anything personal like that. if yr husband has full knowledge of it and isn't bothered by something personal being posted then have at it, share anything he's comfortable with. it's just that in the past, there's been women who have posted rather detailed accounts of things like their husbands' bathroom habits and the like. personally, i can't think of anyone, no matter where they are from, being comfortable with that, and i seriously doubt that any of these husbands had been informed, much less consented to, having that kind of information posted. so not cool.

Bassi gets me surprises, but he can't keep a secret even though he tries to desperately. So he'll say...."I think you'll like this surprise I have, but I won't tell you what it is, so don't ask." I ask repeatedly and then he gives in, because he has trouble telling me No. And he tells me. It's soooooo cute. Between him and my daughter, I rarely get surprised ON my birthday.....but they get me the best surprises even if I know what they are shortly after they have gotten them. :luv: He's even had clothes made for me and it FIT AND i liked it! He's so wonderful. I'm gonna marry that man.

OMG I HAVE NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY HUSBAND IS SO CLOSE TO PERFECTION :lol::lol: .

JUST KIDDING.

FIRST OF ALL HE DOESN'T SPEAK SPANISH SO WHEN HE COMES TO VISIT ME HERE IN COLOMBIA I HAVE TO BE HIS TRASLATOR OF ALL HIS DEMANDS.

HE SMOKES AND WHEN HE TRIES TO QUIT HE GETS SICK AND NORMALLY GETS VERY IRRITATING ,IN THAT MOMENT EVERYTHING IS MY FAULT .

HE CAN'T NEVER EVER ASK FOR SOMETHING IN THE FREAKING MENU IT HAS TO BE THE FOOD HE HAS ON HIS MIND THE ONE THE CHEF HAS TO PREPARE SO IF THEY SCREW IT UP ,I AM THE ONE WHO HAS TO FIGHT WITH THE WAITER.

HE TAKES THE LONGEST SHOWERS IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND THE HOTTES ONES ALSO WE PEEL HIS SKIN IN THE SHOWER EVERYDAY AND COMES OUT OF THE BATHROOM ALL RED WITH HIS SKIN ON FIRE.

HE IS A PERFECTIONIST AND OBSESSIVE PERSONE HE CAN DRIVE ME THROUGH THE WHOLE CITY LOOKING FOR A

TIE HE SAW IN A MAGAZING ,BT WHEN IT COMES TO ME THERE IS NO WAS HE WOULD DO THE SAME .

AND HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND MY SARCASM.

But I love him and I know GOD will help me to put up with his craziness like he does with mine.
