Oh my husband gets up with the baby at night too - that is great. The other thing he does that drives me nuts is avoiding discussion OOR the killer finances - When it's time to pay the bills I pay them and guess what there's usually not a ton left over. So he questions everything! Well why is there no money left? Well duh cus i paid the bills. Well how much was this one and why was it so much? Well hello if you want to be in charge here it is - but no he doesn't want that part of it. Grrrr

I do our finances too, seeing as I'm an accountant. Sometimes Hicham expects me to turn water into wine...or nothing into green....kno' what I mean????? I am like you in that I say "Hey, if you think you can do a better job...then do it!"

Amera I have the same struggle. He doesnt know how/want to be bothered with managing the finances so I do it and then when he notices a big decrease in funds he wants to know everything. Well I wont be questioned! I tell him either a) you do all of the finances or b I quit working if you are going to question my purchases or c) both and he usually shuts right up.

Edited because b with a ) turns into B)

Yes I love the comment he made the other day "Well we should just pay off a credit card with your next pay check" Hmmm yea and then what do we do between that check and the next??? Hence why I pay the bills and he doesn't.

SOunds like he was seriously pampered by a doting and subservient mother. Now the torch will be passed to you.

I dont know whos husband/mother you are referring to but as for me, my husband was indeed pampered by a doting and subservient (sort of) mother. But that torch has NOT been passed to me. Im far from subservient and I lack in the doting area. I control the finances operative word being CONTROL. If I was subservient my husband might be giving me an allowance or something (despite my full time job).

Yea I would second that chaishai - My husband had 6 older sisters and a mother who doted on him, but not subservient by any means. And let me tell you I wear the pants in our family. Like she said - there's not a chance i'd be getting an allowance from him. I think that most of his issue comes from entering a country that operates on a credit/electronic money system vs. cash system. Also he's not use to having to pay for utilities, as most of those are combined (like heat, water, etc) in the cost of housing. They have a satellite so don't pay for tv and recharge their cell phones when empty. That's not how things operate here.

We need some balance in here, lol.

Something he does that makes me crazy is he will constantly call my name while I am talking to someone else or while I am doing something. When I finally turn around to answer, he will say something like "can you get me some water?"

Its annoying bcz the way he calls my name you would think the building is on fire!

Boy does that ring a bell! My husband does that to me no matter what I am doing...drives me insane. But luckily we just joke about it.

One thing he does is I will ask him at about 6 PM "are you hungry?" "Not really" is his response. by 6:30 PM he is starving to death and has to eat this very second. Now I just make dinner when I am hungry. If he wants to eat he can, if not it will sit in the fridge until he is ready to heat it up.

He has a mother that really pampered him, but he is pretty good at getting something for himself if he sees that I can't.

He can't get off his schedule in Jordan, no breakfast, lunch at 3, dinner at 11! :ranting:

You know my husband thinks we are weird here because we eat dinner at around 6 to 7. I told him that here we are all in bed by 11, so dinner had better be well over with. Once he got a job he fully understood the concept...lol

Well I wish mine would get the concept, he has been working since he arrived and he refuses to accept it!

LOL, do we all have the same husband?

Mine hardly ever eats breakfast, snacks from 2pm on, eats dinner after midnight and will not touch leftovers! All food must be prepared fresh, and if its been in the fridge for more than 2 hours, he wont ever touch it, new or not. I think we've got some rotting tuna mac in there from Monday. I dont know why I keep it, because I know he'll never touch it.

His mom and sisters pampered him too. The boy is blind to mess. He had one of his friends clean out the car the other day and told me, "Now keep it clean". I bit my tongue, because it was his mess. And the very next day he's left empty drink bottles, chip bags, crumpled cigarette packs, etc. I pointed this out and he says "Yes, you should keep it clean". At home, he cant even get a drink without making a mess. Cabinet doors all left open, wrappers on the counter, plates and glasses everywhere, unidentified things sticking to the counter, milk jug in a whole 'nother room, etc. How on earth did his mother ever put up with this? And when did the poor woman sleep?

He's bad about finances, too. I pay all the bills, basically because I dont trust him to. And when everything's paid for he wonders where the money went. If I ask for money he asks where mine went "Bills. Rent, electricity, phone, etc", same answer every time. "But, you paid rent last month" he's just completely baffled. LOL

I didnt realize this was in response to me. You would think his mom pampered him but let me tell you she has been living with us for 5 weeks and she is a drill sgt, LOL. I LOVE IT!

He is just extremely lazy. He will even admit that himself. He loves to put things off.
