One Time Per Month (After 180 days)...

just got a mean person on the phone who said I called in to "request" too much.. I called from 10/15, 10/16, 10/19, 10/22, 10/23.. to bug them to hurry up and take a look at my case.. she said just call once a month from now on even if it is after 180 days.. I tell her that I see March people who already have their interview date and she said that "each case is different".. no other explanation.. she was just a mean person who probably hasn't waken up yet.. :crying: What do you guys think? Should I call more and bug them or wait some more? If I do call too much, they might put my case back at the bottom again... Isn't there somewhere we can complain about that? I was going argue and tell her off, but that might ruin my visa chances.. They said they are looking at my case and doing the "security checks".. do you guys know how long that will be? Is that the 1 year checks I see some people getting??.. I asked to see which "security check" it was to (me or her?) and the USCIS person said she didn't know..

It will be really sad if this "security check" does take another year... =( I already work for the government and they did my background checks already... so I really don't know what is going on here.. :crying: I thought at least we will zip by the security check portion.. What does it take to hurry it up? You have to be related to them or something?.. even with a US Citizen (government worker), it still is uncertain when it will get approved...

My husband called them too often and they make to him the same remark. I think that this will not delay your case but call them again at least after 10 working days. According to me it is time for your approval :thumbs: Wish you luck!!!

Would you risk it? I'm afraid they might tell the other "officers" to deny the application, or just put mine under the whole pile... that way I will have to wait another 6 months... ughh.. just the feeling makes me tremble.. :wacko:

Thank you kalina!! Hopefully something will come through soon... I was planning for a Christmas visit from her (best Christmas present).. but maybe now it will be around my original estimate of April 2008... maybe even longer :crying:

They've already given you all the answer they can give. The call center can't do anything more than they already have. So, making a nuisance of yourself isn't going to help you at this point. As long as you're set up for email notifications, you'll know within a day of any action that there was some action.

I don't see anything wrong with a call every now and then to check on the status but conversing beyond a status update is a waste of your time and a nuisance to the call center. They really don't know the details of what's happening with your case. If it's in security check, it will take as long as it takes. There's no way to predict the timeline.

This makes me think.

I'm an administrator for a very large, global company and no matter how much grief a customer gave our customer service departments, our representatives couldn't sway me to change any of that customers data because of it. It would, after all, be unethical to do that on the whim of someone having a bad day. As a customer they are entitled to chase goods if they have not received them, we are providing a service to them and they are paying for that service.

In the rest of our lives, if there is a service we pay for that is not to our liking, then we go elsewhere... this is where USCIS win. With no competition and no choice, we have to stick with the shoddy service they give

USCIS have us over a barrel because we are too scared (maybe that is not the right word for everyone, but it sure covers it for me) that any move we make, that is not 100% to USCISs liking, will result in some kind of backlash from them. Which will then result in something going wrong with our petitions. We are all going through one of the most important processes for us and daren't make a wrong move.

You just have to keep that NVC-light at the end of the tunnel... when we reach there, it becomes the professional operation that USCIS should aspire to become Don't let it get you down, gogo

I really believe we are next for our approvals! You and me and Edp and Urge have traveled this journey together. Our first member was Edp. Its so exciting and I am so very happy for Edp! So, now I hope the three of us gets our approvals all the same day. USCIS soon has to release our approvals and put this crazy process to rest. Hang in there. Remember you have lots of support with us! Who do you think is next? I believe it will be you or Urge and then me. Anyway, when I finally get to the interview at Lima Peru and have our Visa in hand for my husband. We are going to the local bar and getting trashed! I'm not a big drinker but, man am I going to drink for this celebration. When I pick up my drink I will say cheers for you, Edp, Urge, Supernova, Fauth II, Nerdette, Pushbk, and the rest of my VJ friends. For a long awaited heartbreaking process but, the outcome you recieve is priceless! You are with your spouse for life! Remember this my friend and hang in there.
