You girls make me want to be a blueberry for NEXT Halloween (I met the original blueberry girl from Willy Wonka (well she's actually my mom's age) and she was so very nice!)

I don't usually do much for Halloween except put on some cat ears...though they used to scare the hell out of my siamese cat! She was fine if they weren't on my head but the second I put them on her eyes got big and she'd hunch down and let out the loudest MRAOOOOAOOOAOOO

People comment alot on how cute he is and when I talk to Hicham, I sometimes will tell him about it. He'll say, "Oh, it's because he's a holy boy since he's got a holy father!" (Meaning because Hicham's family is from Gaza, the Holy Land) Then I tell him...need I remind you that he came out of MY HOLY WOMB!!!!!!

He's 19 months old. But he acts like he's going on 5 or something. He is the biggest ham! He loves to have his picture taken and loves being the center of attention. I'm the only child in my family and now he's the only grandchild...so far. I feel certain that my family is creating a monster.

But I have to say, he's really an awesome little boy. He minds for the most part and I swear he's SO smart! I mean, I know I'm biased and all, but he really is. He's already using a spoon to eat with and drinks out of a regular cup. And he says a lot of words. I really feel like the nursery school I have him in is doing incredible with him. I also read to him every night at bed time and I think this has helped with some of his words and colors and stuff.

Can you tell that I'm madly in love with this little boy???? I can't imagine a day without him in my life, so it really breaks my heart thinking how hard it is for Hicham to be so far away from him.

Lots of religious jews dont celebrate halloween either. Technically I guess its a pagan holiday? (I didnt really read your article) Ill never be that religious that my kids need to miss out - my son LOVES halloween and he isnt worshipping anything!!! Although he is very happy about the candy (of which i only let him eat two pieces a day until I hide it for good, Im a meanie!)

Pick up cheap candy on 11-1 and ... well, eat away! lol!

Halloween: excuse to eat candy. (and maybe pick up a pirate costume too)

Thanksgiving: excuse to cook turkey.

My son likes to dress up and participate. I dont think we are doing anything wrong religiously, but a lot of observant jews would disagree.

I hate turkey BLEH. Thanksgiving never excited me.

A lot of Christians don't agree with it either. I never saw the harm in dressing the kiddies up and getting candy, as long as the costumes weren't too out there. I love watching scarey movies at night when the kids are in bed.
