McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - A former elementary school teacher who spent six months in jail for having sex with a 13-year-old student was arrested again, this time for violating probation by apparently communicating with the victim.

Pamela Rogers, 28, was arrested Tuesday and released on $10,000 bond. A judge Wednesday ordered her to appear at a July 12 hearing.

Last August, Rogers reached a plea deal to serve nine months on an eight-year sentence, allowing her to avoid a trial on 28 charges of sexual battery and statutory rape. She was released from jail in February for good behavior.

Under terms of the plea deal, she was, among other things, ordered not to contact the victim or his family and not to use the Internet.

Authorities said she violated probation by establishing a Web page on the online social networking hub MySpace.com. Her page featured a blog that included what authorities said was communication between Rogers and the victim's 17-year-old sister.

Rogers is also accused of issuing a cryptic message to the victim through the MySpace page by addressing his basketball jersey number, saying he was her hero and that she would not fall in love again for three years.

The Web site also featured several pictures of Rogers in a bikini.

District Attorney General Dale Potter said he will seek to have Rogers return to prison to serve the remaining seven years of the original prison term.

"This came in such a short amount of time after she was released on probation and in our opinion these were intentional violations of the terms of her release," Potter said.

Rogers' attorney, Peter Strianse of Nashville, told WSMV-TV he was "very concerned" that Rogers' plea agreement was in jeopardy.

all these teachers having sex with students is disturbing and makes me sick.

As a teacher, even in a high school, the thought of ANY of even the OLDEST kids in that way makes my skin crawl...they are CHILDREN

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

As a teacher, even in a high school, the thought of ANY of even the OLDEST kids in that way makes my skin crawl...they are CHILDREN

It makes you wonder why they even went into teaching in the first place. More than ever, kids need teachers who are responsible and compassionate, teachers who can be the ADULTS in their lives that they so badly need. Not teachers who are glorified attention whores! :angry:

Not only that, but there HAS TO BE something wrong in their heads. I mean they MUST have a faulty switch or something to actually think they are engaging in a real, grown up relationship with these children? Like Mary Kay Letourno who REALLY believed at 30 something that this CHILD was cpable of having an adult relationship?

Please.

I think that there should be some kind of psychology test that a person should have to take to work in any job that is associated with children...

Seriously. Ugh. I don't understand why people don't seem to be as icked-out when the genders are reversed--i.e. male pedophiles are pretty roundly castigated, but female pedophiles often seem to just get slaps on the wrists. Sexual predators are sexual predators, no matter what gender.

like freaking debra lefey or whatever her name was in Tampa who was "to pretty to go to jail"...got off scott free and is now pursuing a career in journalism.

There is a double standard. If a 28 year old male teacher had sex with a 13 year old girl... He'd be in jail a long time.

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)
