I lean very strongly to one side of the political spectrum but purposely don't put bumper stickers on my car, and I try to avoid political discussions at all costs, because there are people out there who like to get worked up and cuss and get in fighting mode over politics. I used to enjoy the banter, but after several times of it breaking out into heated arguments, other people crying, and a near-fight being the final straw, I decided to keep my thoughts to myself. I'll let my vote do the talking. I guess it's just my extremely laid-back personality. Me personally, if I lived in the South, I wouldn't be caught dead with liberal bumper stickers on my car...likewise, if I lived in San Francisco or New York, I wouldn't be caught dead with conservative bumper stickers. I figure there's people out there whose blood boils when they see somebody mocking their political party and ideals - people who wouldn't hesitate to vandalize your car over a bumper sticker. Yes, I agree with freedom of speech, but I also take into account the "locos" out there who will make you "pay" for expressing your speech. To me, it's not worth the risk. I'm not saying funny political bumper stickers are bad, just not my style.

I live in the South and am neither Liberal nor Conservative. I am not in the middle. There is room to believe in some aspects of both sides. I am right on some issues and left on others. But I will not compromise my morals by going completely one way or the other.

I think what Erika's Husband stated here is a perfect example of how politics on this website should be treated. This is not a political website. This is all about the Visa process and the stories and concerns of those who will, are or have experienced the journey. We discuss a great many things that do not directly deal with immigration. Is there a need to get angry about it?

I have no problems with a person who might say Bush is our savior or Clinton was the best President. Opinions are fine. But don't try and cram it down my throat or tell me how wrong I am for my beliefs. I'll tell you right now that I maintain little respect for people that feel it is their lot in life to convert me. They usually cannot handle their own life so they attempt to rule mine. That is the issue I have with many religions and the biggest complaint I have about politics. Ford or Chevy, who cares? Do your part and vote. Then live with the results. We all have an opinion of how things are going in the America right now. If you don't like it, do something about it. VOTE.

End of rant.

Thanks "Erika's Husband" for your well thought out words.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

Nicely said Bill, I enjoyed reading Ericas' husbands post also. I live in the south and I go along with the Redneck jokes, some really are funny. The original post said Redneck,, Not Southern Redneck, I don't think she was intentionally trying to insult southerners. I'm sure there must be colleges all over the country with a fair amount of airheads, not just in the south. What I thought was funny, when I replied to her post, I was wearing my camouflage shorts. Guess I'm a redneck
