Yeah I remember first coming to VJ and I was in the K3 board I think. Some real jerks there. Wouldn't help me, they first had to insult how I filed.

This was partially my fault...I should have just kept my mouth shut but no..some poster had to call me on it and make me feel like a complete ###.

I just went back and read your original topic. Thankfully I was not one of the jerks and was one of the ones who told you that you could file the I-485 prior to your I-130 approval. :D

Always fun hanging out with wishy washy canucks!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My comment was just to pull your leg a bit, most of the time when I come here I actually feel worse leaving because of all the stress and disapointments others are feeling and there I nothing I can do for them and if I try and say sorry to them I know it will come out as uncaring. I do hope no-one takes what I wrote seriously but I can see how it would be, it was a poor attempt at throwing in something unexpected.

This forum is awesome, and so are the people. Sometimes we may seem wishywashy, but I also have seen lots of people in our forums say something, and then go back and correct it, or explain it further. That sometimes takes courage, but at the same time isn't it nice to know that we're not going to get our heads bitten off for it? :o

I think one of the nicest things about this forum is our unwaivering support for each other, and the acceptance of those venting. I've done it myself a few times, and it's just the boost I needed to get through my day. We've never met each other in person, but we're willing to lend advice, support, and hugs when needed to those of us that share a special connection.

Oops...just remembered, I'm going to meet SonoranSongbird next week! Yeah! :)

I have to accept that there are some out there (on VJ) who are just like the people I see every day IRL. They know everything, they enjoy being the center of attention and they enjoy making others feel bad. I tend to ignore those people here as well as in Seattle :) However, sometimes I just can't take it and have to say something. I usually get my head taken off, but I don't care.

When I first joined here I got a lot of smarta$$ comments from people (names changed for privacy) who were much wiser in the process than I. The majority of the people were understanding and kind though. And, I generally see nothing but helpful comments (or funny ones) coming out of Canada. Yay you.

Hugs for every-one.

I really laughed at the Seattle-ite who made herself an honourary Canadian. That is so great.

We all have choices.

I was just thinking that.

I can be having a really crappy day and then I log in here and see Liz Legend's little smiley things in her signature or someone like you or Carla having just the right words to encourage someone or someone else (usually Len or Ron) saying something that makes me laugh so hard I can hardly breathe.

I'll get the Ventolin. :)

I do think we're one of the nicest regional forums out there...

Sometimes when "intruders" come in and start messing things up in our forum makes me wish I could put some sort of password that only allows mild natured folk in here..

but I guess it gives us some spectrum.jpg (colour)
