Ordering an ROE for EI

Nine months ago, I was employed at this rather sketchy data entry place in Vancouver. I say sketchy because I was on call through email, but basically never worked more than 8 hours a week... needless to say my student loans didn't like that, so I went back to my old retail job.

Now EI wants a copy of my ROE from that company, which they never issued to me. See, I told you they were sketchy...

I called Service Canada, and they told me to fill out a request for ROE form, but does anyone have any idea where to send it off to?

Hopefully your old sketchy employer actually filled out a ROE... I've heard of sketchy places (mostly telemarketing places) who take the taxes off the employee's cheques but never reported it to Service Canada (i.e., keeping those deductions themselves). You have proof of employment with them like official paystubs and whatnot?

I wish I did have those paystubs. All that got thrown out when I moved to PA. I never thought I'd need that stuff again and now I'm freaked out that they never did an ROE for me

Only thing I have are "call" emails from them asking me to show up at the office. Fortunately they have the company details on them in the signature. When I spoke to the Service Canada rep she said that might suffice as proof of employment.

I really hope this doesn't screw up my EI claim *sigh*

Ah, you should keep all employment & financial stuff for at least 6 or 7 years (or longer if you're paranoid like me). Hopefully it'll all get sorted out!
