Hello Guys/Gals,

Background: We sought help from an Agency in Jordan to get this visa going. Largely because we weren't quite sure and it seemed like a good idea to have an "Immigration & Translation Service" agency help us while in Jordan. I pretty much had all that needed to be done and lawyer there copied my info..explained basic steps. She also suggested I come back to U.S. to mail it from here cuz mailing services there were not too trustworthy...So I had packet 1(I-130) & 2 (I129F) with me..and she had 2/3 payment.

In Process: So far I have been informed and educated with valuable info from all of you and research. If I had listened to lawyer, I would still be waiting for I-797 to arrive and never had mailed out my I-129F..also I would have mailed out an outdated form that in a last minute discovery, I had to redo G325 form that she prep in Jordan (thanks VJ for all your helpful info- saved me some time and stress). I emailed her regarding all my discoveries and sent her USCIS updating her (whos the lawyer and whos the client??). She said she didn't hear anything and also had not comment re: updated form.

Future Process: Ok, once it goes from CSC to NVC then to Embassy.. I believe my husband should be contacted. In our forms we have agency address as his(Agency suggessted it and put that in. At that time he didnt have a numbered address. Before I left he opened a P.O. box in his name (he was sharing one before).

Question: All that to come to this- I am thinking about updating his address so all mail goes to him instead of agency. We really don't want it to go to them..due to lack of trust..(they may cause more delays then what we already have). Any suggestions? Post or PM me. Thanks.. be back in a few..gotta run to work..just noticed the time.

Aloha,

Gwen

I sent you a PM on this, Gwen. This is just my personal opinion, of course, but the short answer is, as long as you trust this agency, I would let them receive the packet 3 from the embassy and not bother with changing the address.

If you do decide to change the address, I would recommend trying to do this once your I-129F has been forwarded to your embassy. Just contact them and let them know the situation...I'd probably try to call and also email. And if they tell you they have changed the address, call back in a couple days and ask them again what address they have on file for you.

But in all honesty, probably the only thing they will need this address for is to send you your packet 3 and possibly packet 4 (depending on how your emassy does this), and they should be able to send it to this agency's address. Just keep in touch with the embassy so you know what's going on and when to expect it!

Best of luck!

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!
