Hi,

I received a notice for the green card interview in July for a September 13 date. I was scheduled to be out of the country during that time so I called USCIS and on their advice I followed with snail mail and proof that arrangements were made before the interview, and asking to be rescheduled. The letter never made it to the file so I was denied the 485. My wife went in and spoke to them on Sept 17 (I was out of town), with copies of the letter and the delivery slip. They said they would verify something was delivered on the USPS website and reschedule the interview, probably in November. She told them I am out of town for work in November, so he made a note for a date in December.

At the meeting the adjudicator left her with the impression it would be looked at quickly, but it is 5 weeks later and no word and my wife is convinced he put the file back on the "denial pile", and it has been forgotten.

Question: Should I make an appointment to see them again and bring proof from the USPS that the letter was delivered, or has not enough time passed and I will be risking making them angry and further delaying the process? I leave November 4th for 4 weeks for work so if I am going to see them I need to do it soon.

I look forward to any and all opinions.

Tom

Given your time constraints with work, I would definately make an infopass appointment to ensure all ducks in a row. Had they taken care of things in the first place, you wouldn't need to micro-manage your own file. Be diligent!
