I notice some of those things too, especially the Your, You're, Their, There, and They're. I am still trying to figure out affect vs effect, no matter how many times I look up the difference I forget so what can ya do. :P It doesn't bother me too much on internet forums, though I try to write correctly. But I saw myself write "there" instead of "their" the other day because I was tired. I didn't bother fixing it with the edit b/c I felt I needed to let it go. But I was mad at myself for using the wrong one.

What does really bother me is when flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc have typos through out. And using words like accept for except and vice versa, don't people use proof readers? That drives me crazy. I used to have to write a small paragraph in a school newsletter when I worked at a small school. I'd hand write it, and the typer(a highschooler lol) would get it and would type things wrong or miss entire words and it always annoyed me so much, because I am the one who looked stupid not the typer.

I think there was actually a thread about this before

For me, the apostrophes used to denote plurals grates the hell outta me. ;)

An apostrophe should be used when making a plural of an abbreviation and that is hardly ever done. But it don't bother me.

For the record, I completely agree with Bora Bora, Lisa, et al. Every single mistake irritates me, unless it's made by someone who doesn't speak English natively. But you know what? Those mistakes are most commonly made by native speakers. I rarely see a non-native speaker make them.

People will always make mistakes in their own language, although some of them are just too much. I know people speaking bad Portuguese irks me and drives me crazy sometimes.

You can't turn off just the photo.... you have to turn off the entire signature.... now some people have good links and usful info in their signature that I want to be able to see... so its not quite as easy as just turn them off..

As for the native speakers making mistakes, please remember that some people do have major issues with the written word... If you are dislexic then to you it may look right when in fact it is mis-spelt.. or the wrong instance.
