hello fellow VJers!

Alrighty...so in an attempt to find out what exactly they sent out the RFE on Friday for...I called the NVC to inquire...the lady who answered me was very nice asking for the necessary info, etc...and then I told her that the automated response system states that there is something missing or incomplete...she took a minute to look...then GUESS WHAT SHE TOLD ME???

they were missing the MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!

I replied to her in shock...asking how because I clearly remember placing the originial marriage certificate with the translation from arabic in the DS-230 packet of forms...she asked me are you sure? I SAID YES!!!!!!!! I wanted to faint at that point...its like they lost it and do not want to admit it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( So she told me they would "investigate" and it would take 10-15 days to find out if they "overlooked it"...this really frustrates me...so I am going to wait another two weeks when I sent in the forms already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! way to go NVC...you have done it once again...

someone please calm me down and tell me it will be ok...thanks :)

whatever it takes...or how my heart breaks...i will be right here waiting for you... 636.gif

the question now is...

should i wait the 10-15 days...and maybe something will turn up in the "investigation"....or should I request another marriage certificate and translation all over again....has anyone else requested this so called investigation and if so did the documents turn up?? please inform me soon...this process has become a nuisance....and i just broke down in tears today thinking...wow the NVC lost my paperwork and now the delay will be even greater for our reunion with one another...inshAllah everything will be ok....I HOPE :)

I just hope that you made an exact copy of DS230 application with documents before you sent it in. If you did, ask them if you can re-submit your DS230 electronically. If you can show them you indeed sent the document in with the rest of the requirements, all you have to really do is to validate that and show them you did. It happened to me, I didn't need to send in the "missing documents".

Good luck!

They lose and then they find. They are in too much of a rush going through files. It will probably be found, it is there, it just needs another review.

I am still waiting... in last leg of the journey... If nothing happens in 5 working days like on the next friday you calll them and find out if they have located your certificate, try to talk to their supervisor tooo... and If nothing happpens I think you will have to submit new certificate.

thank you all for your support :) i truly appreciate it...when things like this happens its great to know that i have a support system here on VJ :) but yes I did send in the original...the funny thing is i called them twice...the first woman told me it was missing completely and they never received it...the other told me that the marriage certificate was not "stamped appropriately"...what does that mean???????? I told her it was the original and the translation was the original as well...so she said we will look into it...ugh...Allah give me the patience because right now I am so upset :(

whatever it takes...or how my heart breaks...i will be right here waiting for you... 636.gif

...i know i'm a little late with this...but it's so funny because the same thing happened to meeee!!

i called them so many times while i was filling out the DS230 packet and i asked them over and over again about the marriage certificate...because from the paperwork, it seemed like i could just send in the original official translation of my marriage certificate and they said that's fine...and i told them specifically "okay, so i will not be sending in the ARABIC marriage certificate then....JUST the original, official ENGLISH translation!!" and they always replied "yes, that's fine".....then i receive a letter a few weeks later telling me that i'm missing the arabic marriage certificate...i knew right away that they were just coming up with something to slow the process down......

they also did this with the affidavit of support!! i specifically remember placing everything in the envelope--i check these things over a million times before sending them out...and they still send me a letter a few weeks later asking that i send papers in again because i was missing them........ridiculous!!!!! alhamdulillah that part's done with.....now i'm just praying everything goes well in cairo!! :( ya rab!!

good luck with everything!! :)

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

no no noooo...stayy strong!!

i know, they are extremely annoyinggg!! and they are just so slow and it really gets frustrating..

its difficult having someone else doing this for you, because then you have a middle man who could be making the mistakes...when i was filling out all those papers, i mean the ds230...i would call them over and over and over again and ask a milllion questions...even if you ask the same questions twice...sometimes you'll get a different answer from each worker...one woman told me that we'd never have to do the medical exam  weirdo...i definitely asked that again and again until i got an answer that sounded normal...

anyway, stay strong..everything will pass and be okayy :) its alllllllllll worth it in the end!! (L)
