Hi all,

I have been living in NJ since 2000. Before getting married, I was working with a H1-B visa, and my driver license says "Temp Immgrant Status". After getting my conditional greencard, I wanted to change my driver license and went to a local MVA. The officer at MVA said that they cannot delete "Temp Immigrant Status" since it will expire in 2 years.

Has anybody have similar experiences? Since the greencard is conditional, the driver license has to have that immigrant status information?

05/24/07: I-485,I-130 and I-765 Mailed AOS/EAD to Chicago

05/26/07: The package arrives to P.O. Box

05/30/07: NOA1 Received date

06/04/07: NOA1 Notice Date (Day 1)

06/05/07: Checks are cashed.

06/08/07: Biometrics notice date (Day 5)

08/20/07: Got EAD in the mail. (No touches and no email notification) (Day 78)

08/21/07: E-mail notification for EAD

08/27/07: Interview (Day 85) approved, but had to resubmit the birthcertificate

09/26/07: birth certificate is submitted, passport stamped. Receive "card production ordered email"

10/04/07: "Welcome U.S.A." letter received.

10/10/07: Green Card received. (Day 129)

my thoughts to you; just be thankful you have a license. Do you care that much about some stupid label? I know it's not fair.

NJ has the worst motor vehicle division. I can't get my license for 3 months because they don't consider my old NJ license as driving experience.

I spent 2 hours in line on Saturday to get my permit and by the time I did I couldn't take the test because it was 12:05. If the woman who checked our documents didn't text on her sidekick between each customer it would have been ok!

8/15/2007 RFE Birth Certificate

8/24/2007 RFE Sent

8/27/2007 Biometrics Scheduled for 9/19/2007

8/31/2007 I-485 Touched

9/04/2007 I-485 Touched

9/19/2007 Biometrics

9/26/2007 EAD Approved (76 days)

10/04/2007 EAD Received

10/05/2007 Applied for a Social Security Card.

10/09/2007 Interview Scheduled for 11/15/2007

10/17/2007 Social Security Card Received

11/15/2007 Stoked on first interivew. Got everything right but officer had a problem with age difference.

04/14/2008 Stokes interview. Approved in less than 5 mins with no questions asked.

04/17/2008 Card Production Ordered.

04/22/2008 Received Green Card.

I didnt ask what I should be thankful for. I was just wondering if having conditional resident card still puts me under temp immig. status. I am not going to discuss with you if I should care about a stupid lable or not.

Is there anybody who has had similar issues?
