Hello everyone,

My wife came to the U.S. as an au pair on a J-1 visa. Her visa and ds-2019 didn't give any indication as to her status concerning the two year home residency requirment. We had the interview for her green card in August. Everything went well but the officer couldn't make a determination of her status reguarding the two-year home residency requirment because there was no indication either way on any of her documents. We applied for an advisory opinion with the state department around 6 weeks ago and are waiting on an answer from them. Her deadline to provide the officer proof that she is not subject is November 9th and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can check the status of your advisory opinion with the state department? Can you recieve an extension on a RFE deadline?
