You only need to pay $1010, please read form I-485 Check box (c ) based on an approved K-1 Visa.

I-130 is filed in cases where a person is adjusting from a visa other than a K-Visa.

Your "pro" dose not know the rules, we adjusted from K-1 and only filed I-485 and paid the fee. Result: Green-Card in hand.

This is an easy thing to do, no pro needed, just read the K-1/K-3 AOS guide, no where in that guide and the I-485 directions does it say a K-1 needs to file I-130.

Did your "Pro" tell you that you need a full medical too? I hope not, K-1 only needs vaccination supplement done by a civil surgeon.

This a common complaint on VJ about immigrations lawyers, they always seem to screw things up.

Good point, if fail to marry within the 90 days after entry, then the I-130 comes into the picture.

I married before the 90 days... I told the professional that I would not send the I-130 and she did not like that, she said "this is not the first time I do this process. The I-485 was mailed yesterday and know she gave me a list of doctors and told me that we need a full physical.

Then you don't need the I-130 and shouldn't need a new medical if it was done in the past year.

were told you need to file an I-130 and need full physical  you need a cosmetology license to give a haircut in Ca. maybe it's time "professional" immigration consultants are required to have some kind of certification.

If you had a full physical within a years time...you only need to have the vaccination supplement filled out, which can cost anywhere from $15-300 and up....phone the CS first and get a price. (this from experience...I got ripped)

You will get good info from the guidelines here and from the members of VJ. Good luck and maybe don't listen to the "professional"!!!

Hi everyone.

Here is my case: K-1 visa we are now married we need to send the adjustment (I-485) $1010

I was told I also have to send the I-130 is this true +$355??? please help.

Could you please update your timeline? Per your timeline, you only have received the NOA2. But in your posts you mention you are already married, so I assmue you went to Ciudad Juarez, had and passed your interview, had your medical exam, crossed over and got your K visa activated. The point about what kind of medical exam (full or vaccination only) really does depend on how long ago you had the Medical Exam. If less than a year, vaccination only. If more than a year, need a new full medical exam. Suerte!
