Help needed regarding Police report

Got letter in mail today with instructions to download forms DS-230 and return to NVC

They also included info for the Police report.

My son is the person immigrating.He is 15 now but will be 16 on December 19th this year.

Does he still need to get this Police report as he is under 16 now but probably not at time of interview.

Also does anyone have a rough idea of how long it should take from here on in.

I am a citizen living in Florida.My son lives in Scotland.

If under 16 you dont need to send a police report to NVC, but when son reaches age 16 then get one for the visa interview.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Any place he lived more than one year, regardless of age, requires a police certificate.
