G325A gaps in residence/short term residence

So, the general rule is "no gaps in residence" when you answer the G325A "Applicant's Residence last 5 years" right? Ok... well, what happens when you leave one residence and just don't have a permanent residence because you are settling into a new city and move around a lot within a short period of time (i.e. you stay at an address for 1 month or less). Well, that kind of happened to me for a whole year.

I read a post that said you should only put down your addresses where you've lived for more than six months--but I've been so transient that all of my addresses were for about 4 months at the most for 2005-2006. I mean for me, these rules contradict each other: Don't leave gaps between residence, but only list the ones that lasted more than 6 months....

I would list your residences as truthful as possible, and then include a seperate sheet explaining the situation of your multiple residences just as you have here. I have this same problem with employment due to being in contract style work. It looks flakey until you give the real reason. I think that would be fine for you too.

wow, thanks for the fast answer! That's a really good idea, the letter of explanation. And should I make 4 cover letters (signed) to go with the G325A? Could I add the explanation on the supplementary G325A form that I have to include anyway because I have a grocery list of addresses/jobs for the last 5 years?

When in doubt give too much information, rather than too little.

I had the same problem...So I listed even my short term residences. I didn't have enough lines to list all my residences, so I had to attach an addendum page.

List all your residences, even those less than 6 months. Better to be safe than sorry.
