Melodee looks at Delmar in astonishment. She never told him the exact reason she could not have a child. But, he knew that she wasn’t avoiding pregnancy on purpose. She runs from the house in tears.

Delmar knows that his attack was unwarranted and cruel. He didn’t want to fight with Melodee, but he was missing Mya like a drug. He could sense something was off between them, and he didn’t have a clue how to get it back. He had done everything he was certain women wanted men to do. Delmar was affectionate, he was attentive, and he had even decided to taste the forbidden fruit. She didn’t know this because she sent him away before he could try it for the first time. He was a little confused about her sudden interest in his brother’s well being. Delmar knew that he didn’t know her long, but it didn’t seem like Mya to put anyone’s needs before her own. He also finds it strange that his brother has not called him all day. Delmar slams his beer on the table and sits in the dark shelter of his living room.*
