Mi have a question..how do ppl qualify for follow to join benefits from I 130 ? My friend is filing for her mother and she has a little brother and wants to know if he can come with her or do they have to wait until her mom comes and she has to file for her brother ?

Kimmy, I don't know a whole lot about this; but from what I have read, it is possible to petition at the same time for her brother and mother.

This friend of yours, she is a US citizen by either birth or naturalization, right? If not, that is the first step. If so, there shouldn't be any issues.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I believe if her brother is under 18 he can come with the mother.

If older, the best thing is for his mother to petition him after she gets citizenship.

Haha, that was funny. You know...about this patwah thing....I think its so much easier to speak, write, and learn patwah if you already speak with a similar slang. I did not grow up speaking patois. Only heard it in music, and that was very hard to understand cause I had no reference to start with to know just what the heck they were saying, but then I had a bfriend for 4 years who would speak it...broken style...to his family. his family spoke it straight up and it was still hard for me to understand. But then I went to jamaica and couldn't get away from it and had people start to break it down slower for me and I realized....its pretty much the way I've always spoke! The accent can throw me when its real thick but for the most part patwah is similar to the way many Black Americans already speak. I thought that was interesting...but defintiely lets you know where the root of our speech pattern comes from...Africa. Yes in JA there are words that are not in the American English dictionary but then vice versa. For the most part when I am with my family I speak very fast and very short with lots of slang and alot of it is similar to patwah. That was the way it was easy for me to learn. I think people who don't speak the "slang" here in the states have a very difficult time with patwa cause they have no frame of reference. Whats hard for me though is that patwa can only spoken...or chat with the accent. So its trying to mock the accent with the patwa that makes me speak it slower. but i can write it for days!!!

Hey Kimmy, mi knoa mi always late. I was trying to do the same thing with my little brother (he's 6) since I am filing for my dad. I was told that I had to put in a separate application for him and try to have his file sent along with my dad's for the interview since he is a minor. I just decided that I didn't want to take the chance of his file not going with Daddy's, so I am going to have my Dad file for him when he gets through and be a co-sponsor.

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
