Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Delmar: Eeehnnn. Yuh cook mi favorite? Mi tell yuh mi good. Yuh neva need fe cook fe mi. Mi ago touch de road.

Chantelle: Eeehhnnn? Yuh nuh heasy Tran. Mi vibe easy same wey. But, Melodee nuh give yuh a bly. Har nuh respect yuh place as har King, Shotta. Look ow har stay. Har gwaan all ova town flash de farrin man dis place and dat. Mi love yuh baby Jah knoas. Come nuh…let mi tek care of mi King. Yuh his mi man Tran. Mi nuh care ow lang mi have fe wait. Nuh touch de road tonight babes. Mi ah beg yuh. Stay.

*Chantelle walks over to Delmar and wraps her arms around his waist as she stares up into his face. She places her palms on his back and begins caressing his tense muscles as she softly begs him to stay with her.

Delmar stands rigidly with his hands jammed into his front pockets. He looks up at the ceiling as muscles flex in his strong jawline. Delmar sighs harshly, and slowly raises his arms to rest on Chantelle's small shoulders.

He looks down at her pretty, soft and delicate features. Chantelle is small and petite like a pre-teen girl that just developed womanly curves overnight. Her face shows the telltale signs of bleaching, but she has managed not to destroy her looks completely. Delmar knows that Chantelle has a love/hate relationship with Melodee, which made it easier for him to seduce her.*

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City , where a woman may go to choose a husband.

Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

'That's nice', she thinks, 'but I want more.'

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.

'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited

How is everyone doing? I have so much to catch up on...I will probably just read and not comment on stuff too much cause I don't want to bring up old topics. Work here is crazy and my personal life has mashed me up. We are doing year end reports and audits here at work and my boss is going around like a mad woman. I found a picture of her here online:

getbacktowork.gif

Anyways I hope you all are good! I am off to find my dress for the wedding and catch up on the gazillion pages I need to read! :)
