I've been through the same thing. There are so many men, regardless of where they come from (women too) trying to take advantage and use people for their own gain.

For some strange reason I always attract men from other countries, American men don't seem to like my type...LMAO. But anyways, I met a guy from Kenya....and to make a long story short...came to find out after all the time he was telling me he loved me, and we were engaged to be married, found out he was seeing someone else and trying to use me to get a greencard.

In the process, his plan backfired, and WE got pregnant. I dumped him while I was only 5 months pregnant. He kept giving me excuses about why he couldn't go to doctors appointments with me because he had to do this that and the other with his friends....and eventually stopped calling, stopped coming around, but claimed that I was 'still' his woman.

So, I went through the pregnancy without him, gave birth without him, and been taking care of my daughter without him. She will be 2 in February, and he's NEVER bought her anything, and he never spends more than 5 minutes at a time when he visits her once every 4 months out of the year.

He gets on my freaking NERVES...because he comes to see her, takes pictures and acts like that' being a father, and then is gone 5 minutes later, and we see him 4 or 5 months down the road. People tell me I shouldn't let him see her at all...but...that's not my choice to make, no matter how dumb he is...he is her father, and she has a right to have whatever kind of pitiful relationship with him.

I swore I would never fall in love again but I did. And now my child's father, won't even give consent for her to get a passport, so that I can take her with me when I visit my SO whenever I so choose....so everytime I go, I have to leave her behind.

Sometimes I wonder what could have been, but I know we are better off without him, because he still hasn't learned. It hurts like hell to look at a child that looks so much like a person that you have grown to dislike....but just remember, that your child is a gift from the Creator, and even though its hard, you will be blessed, and you will make it through!

Now...where Jawi at with da story?:crying:

I would love to see this on DVD..........Jawi you got a hit on your hands :thumbs:

WEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL :whistle::whistle::whistle:, I guess we all gonna find out soon :blush::blush:

I know that parents need to consent for their child to leave the country but why does he if you are not married nor he is in your lives? Did you put his name on her BC? Doesn't she have your last name? That seems odd that he gets this much control over her life when he's just in a sense...a sperm donor. I don't have children so I don't know whats its like to be in these situations, but I understand why some folks may say don't let him see her. I would think that it may be more damaging to her to know that her father is around but "chooses" not to spend time with her. So the coming in and out of her life may be more volatile in the long run that not being there at all. Like I said I am child less so I am just speculating what I may do in a situation like this. It sucks no matter what. But you sound like a great mom so that little one has someone great to look up to.

PASSPORTS FOR MINORS

A minor is defined for passport purposes as an unmarried person under the age of 18 years. 22 CFR 51.27.

Either parent, whether a U.S. citizen or not, may apply for the U.S. passport for their minor child. However, the Two Parent Consent Law, effective July 2, 2001, requires that, for a child under the age of 14, both parents must consent to issuance, or the applying parent must document his/her sole authority to obtain a passport for the child. Thus, before a passport is issued for such a child, Passport Services will require evidence of one of the following: sole custody, a court order allowing the parent to travel with the child; a written statement under penalty of perjury that the other parent agrees to issuance or is unavailable, a termination of the other parent’s parental rights, or compelling humanitarian reasons relating to the welfare of the child.

Phone: (202) 736-9124

Fax: (202) 736-9133

Ok, Jene' u wouldn't be commiting perjury if u signed a consent form, b/c he is not around..u can't be a part-time day...or perdiem....makes me mad..u go try for the passport and put it to God b4 u do and believe that u will get it....good luck

Yes I am very sure you will get it too. If the man is not in your life...no custody or no legal court orderd child support then the child is YOUR responsibility and you just need to let the "powers that be' know your story and you will get a passport for your daughter.

Actually, being a single mom of a child whose father is the worst dead-beat possible. I will say thateven though you try your hardest to raise the child by yourself the government is fed up with people stealing other people's child so they crack down on us, the innocent ones.

I tried for a while to get him to come with me to the post office and he said NO-illiterate ####### said I was trying to take his son from him.....what son stupid you have not been in his live( maybe for teh fist year and then you just a part time dad, part time is too much, he was less than that.

Then I asked him to sign the authorization, he said no again, so I am now in the situation where I have to get a court order.I just recently learned that if a parent takes teh authorizatiion form to the post office ( it has to be filled out and they should write on the back that the other parent is not in the picture...something to that effect and get it notorized) they should be able to get it.

I am actually about to file for sole custody of my baby  so I could careless  cause I am gonna ask the judge to give me full privalge over his travel and all.......shooootttttttttt I am the only parent he has aneways....

Back in 2005 when I was going ot visit my ex-SO in Jamaica, they tried turning me back with my son, because I did not have the paper, I had to beg his dad to send me a fax saying it is ok for him to go to Jamaica for 2 weeks.........now that they are saying that everyone needs a passport it might be a little easier to get one..........

I know it just sucks that theses no good piece of ####### were there to donate sperm but has not stuck around to help out, but if we has parent want to take them away for a while we have to get their permission....

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

It's what I saw with my nieces, nephews, SILs and BIL....As long as there was daylight, they changed clothes and were gone. Homework was done after dark.
