I've been through the same thing. There are so many men, regardless of where they come from (women too) trying to take advantage and use people for their own gain.

For some strange reason I always attract men from other countries, American men don't seem to like my type...LMAO. But anyways, I met a guy from Kenya....and to make a long story short...came to find out after all the time he was telling me he loved me, and we were engaged to be married, found out he was seeing someone else and trying to use me to get a greencard.

In the process, his plan backfired, and WE got pregnant. I dumped him while I was only 5 months pregnant. He kept giving me excuses about why he couldn't go to doctors appointments with me because he had to do this that and the other with his friends....and eventually stopped calling, stopped coming around, but claimed that I was 'still' his woman.

So, I went through the pregnancy without him, gave birth without him, and been taking care of my daughter without him. She will be 2 in February, and he's NEVER bought her anything, and he never spends more than 5 minutes at a time when he visits her once every 4 months out of the year.

He gets on my freaking NERVES...because he comes to see her, takes pictures and acts like that' being a father, and then is gone 5 minutes later, and we see him 4 or 5 months down the road. People tell me I shouldn't let him see her at all...but...that's not my choice to make, no matter how dumb he is...he is her father, and she has a right to have whatever kind of pitiful relationship with him.

I swore I would never fall in love again but I did. And now my child's father, won't even give consent for her to get a passport, so that I can take her with me when I visit my SO whenever I so choose....so everytime I go, I have to leave her behind.

Sometimes I wonder what could have been, but I know we are better off without him, because he still hasn't learned. It hurts like hell to look at a child that looks so much like a person that you have grown to dislike....but just remember, that your child is a gift from the Creator, and even though its hard, you will be blessed, and you will make it through!

Because it takes a huge piece out of you as a woman to accept that this is something that you have no control over and can't fix! We are fixers...we fix everything, boo-boo's, dinner, paying bills, etc...So why can't we fix this too!? Because a relationship takes more than ONE person and you can ONLY control YOURSELF and YOUR actions, no one elses!!

So then you make a decision ...can I live with this person total and utter disrespect or lack of concern for my feelings or do I move on? Most times (at least in my case) it was just easy to stick with the devil I knew! However, by doing that little by little you are murdering (yes and I do mean MURDERING) your self-esteem and self-worth! You start to believe that you deserve to be treated in such a manner and you are not worthy of a better man. Even as far as you are so F-ed up that you are lucky that he still shows interest and 'SAYS' he loves you!

He really is...but I've grown to be so much a better person. There would have been a time where I would have done some things to really make his life ugly. Could have...but decided against it. I know he's here out of status, and definitely illegal...(he was here on a student visa, and he quit school)...

God knows...I should send his name to ICE....but its all good. Karma is a BEYATCH. What goes around comes around. But if he keeps pushing me...well...LOL!!!!!!!!
