*Toya and Tradee walk across the street in uneasy silence. She wants to know what makes this man tick. She wants to know why he and his twin are polar opposites, and why the tension is so thick between them. Toya feels that he is probably misunderstood by most people in his life. He is a loner, not truly belonging to any one group, including Rastafarism. She can see the sadness and emptiness in his eyes. His eyes doesn’t have the same spark of life that his brother’s have. She would always be able to tell them apart because of that one trait.

Tradee grabs her hand, and leads her unto the deserted local beach. It is not the typical beach most tourist flock to, or finds visually appealing as it is has a rustic, uncut beauty. Toya steals a furtive glance at her handsome companion. His appearance is rustic and cut like the beach, he is not as polished as his brother.*

Toya: Let’s make a deal to start over and forget the obvious misunderstanding earlier. I find you very attractive, but it’s not always best to act on every attraction. I think that we can gain a lot from each other, if we can cultivate a friendship. What do you think?

Tradee: I and I ovastand Empress.

Toya: So, Rasta, tell me something, anything at all, about Delmar aka Tradee aka Rasta that no one else in this world knows. I am open and receptive, and I promise not to judge or mock you.

Tradee: Empress mi nuh tink yuh knoa whaa yuh ask fe. My queen still wata runs deep. Nuff tings mi neva tell a soul about, only Jah knows. *Tradee sits down on a small tuft of grass near the sand, and gently pulls her down to sit between the middle of his parted legs. He allows her to lean back casually on his chest. They sit in a comfortable silence watching the tide ebb and crest against the beach. Toya thinks that Tradee has no intention of answering her question. He pardons himself and stands up abruptly. Tradee walks over to the water’s edge, and runs his hands over his locs. He comes back to sit next to Toya.*

Tradee: Empress, why do you want to know so much about me? I’m a virtual stranger to you. You will remember me briefly when you return home, then I will be filed away in one of the memory banks in the recesses of your mind.

Toya: Rasta, I’m intrigued by your silences, those thoughts you don’t allow yourself to vocalize. I am drawn to the sadness reflected in your eyes. Your eyes have made an impression on my heart, and I will not likely forget their depths in this lifetime. Can I touch your locs? *Tradee nods in the affirmative. Toya removes his cap, and gently guides his head to her waiting lap. She begins to coil each tendril around her fingers. She is amazed at the soft silky texture. Tradee closes his eyes, and allows her caress to ease his troubled mind. Toya begins humming softly, lost in her own thoughts.*

Toya: *breaks the long comfortable silence* I-I t-think we should get back Rasta. It’s getting late anyway.

Tradee: Empress you are bless-ed. I could stay just like this forever. I like your vibes and the easiness about you. I have done some things that I’m not proud…

Mya: TTTOOOyyyyaaa!!?? Where are you girl? Are you decent? Tran baby do you see them? Are they doing something?

Delmar: Yo bredrin! Whaa gwaan?

Tradee: Mi dere yere boss. I and I is criss. Respect. Mi and de Empress gwaan easy yuhseeit?

Toya: Hey My, are you ready to go back to the hotel? It’s getting late and we haven’t slept all day. Well, at least I haven’t anyway.

Mya: I’m not going back until I witness my first Jamaican sunrise on the beach. I’m sure your boy won’t mind getting you back if you want to go back. Will you Tradee?

Tradee: *whispering* As much as I am enjoying your company, I don’t mind taking you back if you want to go.

Toya: I guess I only live once. I want to see the sunrise too. I’m good.

*Delmar and Mya walk down to the shoreline, barely able to keep their hands and lips off each other. Mya is giggling, and happier than Toya has ever seen her. Tradee settles back on Toya’s lap and looks up at her beautiful face.*

Guys I am truly amazed that my little story is entertaining so many people on VJ. I have never written a story, I have done some poetry. I may seriously look into honing my writing skills. I'm enjoying it. It is therapuetic actually.

I have one more statement to make. I do not give my permission to have my story copied or duplicated. I don't wish to see my words all over the internet. If you wish to use it, please contact me for written permission. Thank you! Now, with no further delay:

Tradee: Empress has anybody ever tell you how stunning you are? Your beauty is not just on the inside, it comes from every pore on your body. You should be making some man the happiest man on Earth. I know we said that we would focus on friendship, but can you see yourself with a man like me?

Toya: Rasta, honestly I haven’t pictured myself with anyone. I’m not in a good relationship back home, and this trip was one to re-discover myself. I wish I could give you an answer to that question. All I can offer at this time is friendship. I’m sorry.

Tradee: I and I ovastand more than you know Empress.

Toya: Are you okay Rasta? Umm, will you let me re-twist your locs before I leave? I would love to take pictures of you as well.

Tradee: Respect.

Toya: The sun is coming up. Can we walk? I want to feel the surf.

*Tradee gets up and pulls Toya up behind him. He turns her around, and grabs her in a warm embrace. They look at each other briefly, and the resulting kiss was inevitable. The kiss was warm and different, not lusty but definitely pushing the boundaries of their friendship. Tradee was putting his bid in to let her know that he would be working on more than friendship. Toya smiles at him weakly, and pushes at his broad chest. She looks back at him as she interlocks her hand in his, and pulls him behind her.

They walk hand in hand down the beach. The beach is still rather dark, but they can just make out the silhouettes of their companions. Their body movements leave nothing to the imagination, and the heat is enough to cause the ocean water to boil. She attempts to move past the action, but Tradee is enraptured and bolted in place. She notices he is breathing heavier, and his manhood is slowly curving around his waistline. She would be turned on by his girth if it wasn’t so damn disturbing. Something else further down the beach catches her attention. She takes her hand back, and walks down the beach to investigate. She notices that Fitz is moving in and out of different yoga positions. She walks over, and takes a seat on the sand to watch him. He smiles at her, and slowly completes his routine. She glances back, and Tradee is nowhere to be found.*

Oh how quickly this could become a batty man story

*Melodee had fallen asleep in only her stilettos waiting for Delmar to return and finish what they had started on the verandah. She wasn’t sure how long she had been sleeping, or how long she had cried. Melodee would never let him know that she cried whenever he disappeared. She knew that Delmar’s weakness was women, and she tried to keep things fresh and exciting between them. She could not loose him, and she would continue to turn a blind eye to his philandering ways. Delmar was an excellent lover, and left Travis in his dust. She had been in love with Travis during secondary, but his bedroom skills left a lot to be desired. Her girlfriends had told her how Delmar’s skills made them weak. So, she set her eyes on Delmar, and set a plan in motion that should have gotten rid of Travis for good.

Melodee is startled awake by an insistent pounding on the front door. The person is in a hurry to get in, and she is certain that it is not Delmar. She rubs her tear-swollen eyes, and pads over to the door while shrugging into her kimono robe. Her heart lurches in her throat at the sight of him. Their resemblance is uncanny. There was a time when she couldn’t tell them apart, a time when she really loved Travis. A thought makes her tremble in stark fear, and snatches the door open.*

Melodee: Rasta! Whaa happen tuh Shotta? Oh Gawd! Whaa mek?
