Hey guys!

I received notification online that I was awarded my NOA2 on October 4th. I still haven't received my NOA2. I have to call them back this week - I tried last week and they said call back this week. So I will do that. But in the meantime, I still don't have an NOA2 hardcopy.

Anyway, I'm just unsure of what happens next and where to go from here. What about the NVC. How long do I wait to call and where can I contact them? Any other information would be helpful! Thanks!

Takes 2-4 weeks from NOA2 to NVC, you can call NVC at that time and check the status, you need to talk to an operator.

Just FYI... getting your case to NVC is taking MUCH longer than it was even a month ago. Our NOA2 came on 9/20/07 and NVC STILL does not have it.

You do need to call and get another copy of your NOA2 mailed to you tho if you haven't received the hardcopy yet.

2007:

February - May: extended visit to States, engagement.

5/4: I-129F sent (Texas Service Center, forwarded to California Service Center)

5/11: Petition received at California Service Center.

5/16: Check cleared. NOA1 online (no hard copy received yet)

6/19: NOA1 hard copy arrived FINALLY

7/16: Sent off for Police Certificate (U.K.)

8/22: TOUCHED due to phone call (RFE Trick, was told case wasn't assigned yet)

9/20:APPROVED!!! After 127 days from NOA1 and 139 days from filing date.

10/23: Spoke to Kelly at NVC who said they should have received our petition by now. She advised I send a copy of our NOA2 directly to the NVC office, which I did immediately. :-)

10/26: NVC RECEIVES CASE!

10/30: NVC SENDS CASE TO LONDON CONSULATE

11/1: Consulate receives case in London AND sends out Packet 3.

11/6: Sent Packet 3 to Consulate (we'd downloaded the forms on VJ and had them completed already)

11/22: Appointment for Medical.

2008:

01/08: Interview scheduled for 10 a.m. APPROVED!!!

02/01/08: Stephen comes to America!!!

Like Sienna said, there is some delay in cases getting sent to NVC.

Contact info for NVC: 603-334-0700, 1, 5

You also want to make sure that you get that hard copy NOA2 as it is needed for AOS once your fiance gets here.

Good luck!!

When we were approved, we got mixed up in the whole May not sending NOA2's out issue. I waited 30 days, then called. The lady on the help line sucked and said they would submit an inquiry and I may have to pay several hundred dollars to get another one. So then I used the RFE trick, got through to Cali and the lady resent the NOA2 free of charge. She even called back to make sure I got the NOA2. Just make sure you get it, you need it for AOS and they will charge you $$ if you have to get another one sent.

I am curious...what is the "RFE trick?"
