I have an eBay store(and no, I'm not going to violate the TOS by posting the URL here) ;) - I mostly sell stuff that I have bought in Nepal and India, and G has been sending me some things as well - it's a fun way to make some extra cash, though eBay fees are starting to get out of hand. :(

I think you should teach a class on katmandu or hindu things or stuff like that. You seem alot smarter than some of the tofu eating yoga mat people I have met that say NAMASTE every other sentence LOL

LOL - I know just the type of ppl you mean. Actually the religious director at the college where I work has suggested I do some kind of course on religion in Nepal - maybe once I've gotten the application sent then I will seriously think about it. The shamanistic stuff alone is pretty fascinating - I'll bet very few ppl on this board have been whacked on the shoulders with a snake vertebra in order to balance their elements...

You should sell wedding stuff.. or things like that... I want some indian food right now... Did you ever eat peanut soup except super spicey? I had a customer who was the kind of hindu that has to stop eating after a certain time and has red marks on the walls and doors.. What kind is that ( Hindu)?

I love peanut soup, except I think it is Thai, no? I love any kind of spicy food - luckily for me my hubby has the same preference - our favorite food is cheese dumplings(momo) in chili sauce - man I wish I could make that...gotta learn how before he gets here so I can make my man happy....

The red marks sound like kumkum(vermilion powder) - it is used to bless things and people and animals... the high point of a Hindu marriage(like the exchanging of rings) is when the groom puts kumkum powder in the bride's hair part - at our wedding there was a white cloth leading to my head and G sprinkled kumkum in a straight line along it, ending at my part, I had never seen this before.

Well I work and have a daughter which keeps me busy. I'm often busy doing volunteer work in my church. I'm also trying to learn hausa but not progressing very quickly. But every now and then I say something that surprises Bassi. That's makes it worth it. :) I've been making a list of things I need Bassi to fix in the house. He thinks it's hilarious that I'm making a honey do list for him and he's still in Ghana waiting for his visa. But it'll keep him busy until he starts working for money. I often plan out a nursery too and I'm thinking of buying a remant this weekend because there is a sale but I have superstitions as well, so I don't know if I will or not.

computer games

World in Conflict.

Best strategy title I've played yet.

And I re-obtained the ability to play one of the few masterpieces out there:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Cross

Though I missed the chance at getting my favorite character ... and had to re-start. Doh! Oh well, more time to burn, no?

[Of course you know, I get to sit around and have fun - only in my head. :( In reality, it's work, snack, work, work, eat, sleep, repeat. ] :crying:

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )
