I have read the various posts that using a marriage broker, aka Cherry Blossoms, should not cause any issues. Does anyone know if there would be any issues if she signed up for the service and we met online when she was 17 years old although I will not meet her in person until she is 18 years old?

Meeting her before she turns 18 isn't a problem either.

Have to be careful there, according to US law, there's a mandatory 30 year jail sentence for someone in the US who goes to meet someone under the age of 18 in a foreign country. You might want to check her official birth certificate. I'm not sure if the same is true for communicating with someone on-line who is under the age of 18? There have been lots of cases of child sex predators in the US having been arrested for communicating online with someone under the age of 18, even if they never actually met.

Neither "meeting" or "communicating" in person or online is against any law. "Soliciting" or "having" sex with a someone under the age of 18 is in many countries. For instance, I met my step-daugher online and in person when she was 17. No problem.

Words mean things.

I'm am being as real as is humanly possible. I also met my brother in-law's five year old neice, his 13 year old daughter and a friend's 8 year old son. I commonly meet teenagers on a weekly basis.

Meeting and communicating aren't crimes. Even when the subject is romance, meeting can occur without any criminal activity. "Meeting" does not have a sexual connotation, in and of itself and neither does romance or love. Even in this century, there are actually people who meet and marry without having sex first.

Sex stuff between adults and juviniles is the problem, not "meeting" and "communicating" or even falling in love.
