My SO wanted to put(joint) me on his bank account but they turned down my Greencard  They want me to provide DRIVER LICENSE OR STATE ID

Go to the DMV or whomever licenses in CA, and ask for an ID. I don't drive, but have my Washington ID, and it was a breeze getting it!

Most banks want SSN to add your spouse to account, as well as photo ID like passport, state ID, Green-Card should work because it is a federally issued photo ID, sounds like you were dealing with a MORON.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

The patriot Act has forced banks to make come changes in their proceedures which sometimes results in bank employees only being confused about what the law really compells them to do. Usually checkiing with a supervisor will clear this up.

My SO wanted to put(joint) me on his bank account but they turned down my Greencard  They want me to provide DRIVER LICENSE OR STATE ID

This was the same for us at our credit union. Fortunately we had gotten Claudeth a California I.D. and that is what they accepted.

Attention K-Mart Shoppers

:lol:we don't have k-mart but we do have Wal-mart.. (My SO said..that I spend less time on shopping comparing with other woman when they hold credit card) ;)

I have no idea what I was doing last night, too much beer at the golf course I suppose

Sad to hear that..where did you try to open Bank account? I easily open a new joint bank account with my hubbie and they approved us even I don't still have my Greencard and SSN. Try to go to COMMERCE BANK...I think they can help you...
