What to expect after filing

We sent off the Adjustment of Status papers October 9. The I-94 expires November 4. What will we receive to show my wife has legal status to be here? When will we receive it? Thanks. I'm finding this process to be a less clear than the original Petition for fiancee.

I-485 NOA1 letter serves this purpose. Don't worry about the I-94 expiration.

Did you file I-765 for EAD along with the I-485, there is no extra cost for EAD when filed for with AOS.

If you did not then wait for I-485 NOA1 and send a copy of that letter with the I-765 (c )(9 )

USCIS puts case number on the back side of the check, us if your bank provides scans of the check, you should be able to use it to set up the case status tracking on USCIS site, if not you will have to wait for the NOA1 letter to get the case number. Edited October 20, 2007 by YuAndDan

If you received the NOA1 you can check your status online using your case number.
