I have always sent my finace stuff through USPS and it has never gotten lost.

If you want you could also try DHL or FedEx.

I've never had a problem sending it through USPS. Are you sending a box of things or just paperwork? If it's something valuable in a box, you can try using FedEx. It's expensive but it'll get there. Otherwise, when I send cards or the forms, I used USPS and it took about two weeks for him to get it.

I never had a problem using USPS, I didn't mail anything of much importance to my husband through USPS, because you just never know. I used DHL & FedEx for the more important things. But anything we mailed to each other made it just fine and arriving approx 2 weeks and sometimes less! Yes, I would make copies too.

Greg, I've used regular postal mail to mail documents that didn't necessarily have a time frame and it ahs usually take about 3 weeks.....I've used fed ex when mailing visa papers and had to have my relatives over there give me their house number address since fed ex will accept p.o. box numbers which as we know is how mail is usually addressed in ghana..... I once made the big mistake of using the house address by sending it via usps and it caused a big confusing at the ghana post office...so if just make sure if you send mail through usps that you use the p.o box number and not the house number which most times fed ex prefers since they hand deliver to the house. In any case. whichever mail courier service you use, you can at least track the package til it leaves the United States. If you do send it regular postal mail and its importat papers, its probably best to pay a lil extra for proof of delivery (this is when they are supposed to sign for it once they receive it in Ghana)

WOW! Yeah sending mail to Nigeria is kinda sketchy. I usually send my fiance stuff through people who take trips to Nigeria. But I need to send him something for his bday in November...thinking of using DHL...i'm still nervous about that though.

June 8th - I-129F mailed to VSC

June 13th - NOA1

November 9th - NOA2!!!

January 10th - APPROVED!

January 24 - Pick up visa

January 31 - Honey arrives in US!

February 28- Court marriage

May 2- NOA1 for I-485 and EAD

May 31- Biometrics

June 2- TOUCHED

Sept 2008 - Perm resident

Receiving mail within Ghana...Well the only experience I have with that is when I received a letter from the embassy of Ghana which took me about 4 days to receive which is fast since I live here in the states

(I believe the letter was about the k-3 process about when i should recieve the packet 3 and 4)..We had authorized my brother in law to pick up and recieve packets 3 and 4 for us so we instructed the embassy in Ghana to send it to my brother in law in Takoradi. The embassy had mailed it this letter about the same time they sent me a letter and it finally arrived in Takoradi nearly 3 weeks later. So I rec'd a letter from Ghana much faster than the embassy sending a letter within the country.

The embassy is not using Ghana mail. That's why it works faster. They have regular mail shipments through DC (some embassies daily couriers) and then it's through our USPS.
