POE question

As we prepare for me to move to the U.S. I'm wondering if there's anything I should keep in mind for at the border. I am hoping I remember to ask the POE officer if he/she can photocopy my medical papers for AOS... but is there anything else I should know?

Not sure how you plan on entering the US (air, land etc.), but for us it was pretty painless.

Remember to have a few USD on hand for your I-94 (they didn't quite know how much to charge us so the "settled" on 7$ cause they had to charge us SOMETHING). If you are going to a land crossing, leave yourself a bit of time because sometimes you hit a guard that doesn't quite know how to activate the visa (as was our case). He took his time and we were out of there in about 30-45 min.

looking back I was SOOOO stressed about it all, but it really was very easy. I did have a manifest on hand of my personal belongings - 1 box of clothes, 1 bag of household items (nothing crazy itemized), but they never asked to see it in Calais, ME.

Babe, just use what's left of your charm after MTL (I hope you gad some in reserve ) and you'll be fine. If crossing with pets, have them checked by a Canadian vet first (the website said no need, the b!tch at Widlife inspection said need...). Allow for time and relax. It's indeed almost painless.

make sure you have an itemized of general items in each box (with numbers!)
