I sent an email off to the US Embassy in Thailand today to inquire about my case. It may have been to early to send an email but what the heck. Unfortunately, the embassy in Thailand will not let you come in to pick up, or drop off paperwork. Everything is done throught the mail. It makes it harder because the mail system is very slow there and not reliable at all. If I do not get a reply soon, I will email again.

Like you, when we know that packet 3 has been sent we will send in the DS-230 Part one.

Good luck!

Yes, mail in HCM is also slow as I've analyzed previous VJ Members to determine the approximate timeline for send and receive (2 weeks). I'm trying to do my best to find any ways that I can to make up some of the time lost.

I want my fiancee to get her interview as soon as possible also but since I am planning to be at the interview, I am hoping it will not take place until after the holiday madness. LAX International Airport is a horrible place to be during the holidays. Been there, done that. So maybe for me it is good the mail is a little bit slow. :)

Just received an email from the embassy in Thailand. They have not received my file yet. Hopefully it will be there this week. Waiting as usual.

Give it a couple of more days. I'm sure you will hear something before week's end. Ours took 10 days to get there and I am hoping that won't be the case for you. Good Luck!

I got my interview date from the Department of State. They were very helpful.

DOS is Department of State - +1 202 663 1225

Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a Visa specialist

If you have your consulate case number they will talk to you. The advantage is the significantly cheaper cost of calling!!

I just received a call from Samir. His interview lasted only 10 minutes and we're approved!!!

WOW nearly 7 months for a 10 minute interview. Can't describe how happy I am that this leg of the journey is over. We have to wait around 8 days for the visa and we are planning to be reunited on December 7th.:dance::dance:

Good luck to all of you out there waiting! :star:
