There's already a thread for April/May filers NOA2 to NVC, and another for April filers NVC to interview. Thought it might be good to have a place for May filers to post after NVC!

So, May filers, please post your after-NVC experiences, how long it takes your case to get to the embassy, receiving packets 3 and 4, experiences of medical exams, I-134 and so on.

For those of us who are currently waiting for NVC, your feedback and experiences will really help us when we get to that stage!

We got approved on 27th August and my fiance got a letter from NVC stating the case had been forwarded to the Embassy on 1st of October and telling us the LND case number.

Because of the postal strike delaying my receipt of Packet 3 I got the scans of someone else's packet 3 from Visajourney, downloaded the forms and sent everything to the Embassy by courier on 8th October.

I booked a medical for 24th October. I finally received Packet 3 from the Embassy on 17th October (Embassy sent them out on 5th October). I received Packet 4 on 19th October and have my interview booked for 7th November. Good luck to all the other May filers :)

Ah. I've been looking over this checklist from Packet 3 that demands a courier receipt for the interview and couldn't figure out what it was. After reading RosemarieL's post, I guess my fiancee or I send all of the Packet 3 forms to the Embassy ahead of time? I thought she just took them to the interview. Maybe it differs by Embassy...

Fred called me this morning telling me he just checked his mail and got something that said United States of America on it, but hadn't opened it yet. I was still half asleep and wasn't really comprehending what he was saying. I can only imagine it's packet 3!

We're working on Packet 3 now... *sigh* Almost got it all together just waiting for that darn police cert. and health record so he can book the medical to see what he needs and make an appt at the embassy.

I read someplace you can defer immunizations until you apply for AOS was I just dreaming that or is that something real?

It's Sunday...I woke myself after dreaming I was in a queue for paperwork, THAT'S how sad my life is now! :o

Ever Hopeful,

Hi Annette, you are right, he doesn't have to have the immunizations until AOS. I found this on the travel.state.gov website:

Vaccination Requirements

All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and diptheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

Hope that helps! :)

Well, now my fiance is gonna need to order a court certificate to show that the charges were dropped from the ridiculous disturbing the peace charge from 13 years ago :o THIS apparently is something not on the police certificate so I have been told he will need this at the interview to show what happened with the case.

Another 2 week wait to get this piece of paper. :o

I feel like the floor gave way when I heard that one, we've waited so long! A few weeks wait here, a few weeks wait there, it never seems to end I am so sad. Just started crying yesterday... :(

*sigh*
