Well, i don't know where to start but here it goes...

Day 1: I flew to El Paso on Tuesday the 16th and arrived at 12:15pm and I didn't have to wait too long for my bag. I came out of the airport and there were taxis outside. Like many people said, negotiate before jumping in the taxi. I was looking for other person who was going to Juarez but I had no luck. (That way we can split the cost) So the man charged me $45.00 and gave me good info on what to expect on the days of the medical and the interview. I passed the border in less than 2min!!! They made me press the "Street" light and got the green light, meaning no search, and then got to the Holiday Day Inn Lincoln in about 20-25min. I met my fiancee and her mom and got settled for that day. The taxi for her was $245 pesos, or about $25 dollars from Juarez airport to the hotel.

Day 2: We got up at 2:30am to get in line for the medical that opened at 6am. We were there by 3:15am or so and there was a line already there but only about 25 people and not all were going in. IT WAS COLD!!!!! All I had was pants and a t-shirt. I though being a Chicago native i thought that cold won't hit me but it did, and hard too!!! We went to the one next to the consulate. ONLY people getting examed were allowed to be inside. So we waited outside for about 3hrs when she finally came out. Same day we had to pick up the results at 3pm and not to open it! In the meantime we took the advantage and went to Banamex to pay the visa, $1,100 pesos. It's not too far from the hotel. About 5 blocks or 15min walk. Its on the same street as the consulate but to the right.

This is the front of the medical.

We had to pick up the results at the BACK of the building...Im not sure if this is always been done but thats what happened.

The results

Day 3: HELL...We got up at 2am to be there at 3am and the was a small line already out side. So we came more prepared. I bought a foldable chair for $10, a sweater and lots of change for coffee and snacks. She was the 10th or 15th person in line, so we were in good shape. Doors opened at 6am sharp and she was in by 630am...So I waited....waited....waited...7am...8am...9am...10am..11am...12pm...and at 1:20 pm I see her coming out. I was expecting a big smile from her...she had a frown face...I was like..."Oh God noo..., I hope is a face of tiredness and not sadness" So she crosses the street and I said "Well?????? Did you get it??????" And tears came out saying "Yes...we got it" A BIGGG load came out and the stress, the almost 7hr wait, the whole waiting since March finally was over...I called my parents to give the great news, everyone was happy, WE were happy...Along with her visa, we got that packet that is not to be opened, but you can tell whats inside..such as emails from us, pics, letter of intent and the rest who knows...who cares!

Tips and places to go:

*Near the hotel, there is a shopping center, like walmart, to the left of the hotel when facing outside of the door. How far? Just cross the street and you're there. Prices were excellent.

1016071810.jpg

*There is a great place called "Tortulocas" the best tortas I ever had!!! its in the shopping center that I mentioned above.

100_1826.jpg

*Like to gamble? There is a casino in Juarez! In the same shopping mart called "Caliente"

*The hotel's restaurant is great, kinda pricy, but if you don't feel like walking out, they have a great buffet, I got the breakfast one, I paid $396 pesos for 3 people.

*the room was ok, I had better but it was nice enought to stay. Big tv, 2 big beds, the bathroom was small but still enought to pass.

*At the interview, all the asked for was for my 2006 Tax transcripts, birth certificate and paystubs..For her: proof of where she lived, what was her and my name and my address...thats it! no emails, no bank stements, no chat logs...just a few pics and who and where it was taken!!! She had the approval by 9am but they took almost 4hrs to actually give it to her!!!!! :crying:

*SHe told me that the officers were very nice to her, very helpful to her and to others while inside, nothing compared to the ones in Mexico City!

[/center]Thanks to VisaJourney and Ciudad Juarez for all the help on this journey....Now our real journey is about to begin....

A well deserved congratulations to you and your sweetie ! :dancing::thumbs::dance:;)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
