hello to all,

As the time for my DS-230 is coming up next in NVC process...I have questions for all of you!

I want to know which documents are required to bring with us in the interview? I know that there is some documents such as Birth certi of beneficiary, marriage certi, etc..is to send with DS-230. However, I have question regarding same documents to be presented/ to take with us in interview? If we have already send them our originals for example, marriage certificate, then how are we to take original marriage certificate to interview?

can someone please who has finished their interveiw at Montreal clarify this for me!

And what did u and how did you gather and followed your process?

Can you please tell me your step-by-step process of documents for DS-230 and Interview!

I will really appreciate your help!

For the cr-1/ir-1,you send in the originals!! Thus they already have them! NVC forwards them on to Montreal! In a perfect world Montreal will have them, and they usually do!! At the completion of the interview, they hand you back most of your originals (they just take photocopies to keep for themselves) Always good to keep photocopies of them and everything else you send in! But there are freaks like me, that bought doubles of the originals just to be safe ( in reality you don't have th e"original" birth cert, thats kept on file in ur province, etc etc) So in conclusion, in ur last packet u wil recieve,it does mention to bring the originals, if you had not already, BUT you already have!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
