It depends what the IO told you at the end of the interview. Did he say that your GC would be issued soon? That you are in namecheck? We need a little bit more information to help you otherwise we could be telling you the completely wrong thing.

If you could fill in a timeline too that would be great, it'll give us a bit more to work with.

Well then, it's a good thing you provided them with the documents they asked for, but there is still no telling how fast you will be approved from now. That's the thing with name checks.

Annie spent 9 months and 22 days in the 'Name Check'

Others have spent longer, many have spent less.

like Kez asked, How long is a piece of string?

The answer, it is twice the length from the middle to the end

There is no way of determining how long you will be in name check.

if you are pending namechecks then no-one will ever be able to definitively answer your question as to when you will receive an answer.

you are awaiting the FBI to finish their checking....at the moment it is out of USCIS hands.

some are fortunate to be "stuck" for days or weeks. if you have read through the site, you will see that others have been waiting for years. there is no clear cut answer.

but please, above all else, do not panic. your posts tend to "read" as if your next breath depends on finding out the answer. it is a long and stressful process, please do not add more stress to your emotions and body.

Hi Sand!

You've been "banging the keys" here on VJ for awhile and must know there's no way to determine how long final approval will take.

Best to prepare mentally for the long run and hopefully you will be surprised. If you don't hear from them in 30 days . Give your service center a call or do a Infopass and find out what's happening.

When we had the interview IO said we'd have GC in 2 weeks.

3 weeks went by and I called them. They had things all screwed up and we had to go do biometrics again.

Took a couple months to get GC.

Alls I'm saying is to stay on top of things.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

sand:

i have seen you around but i don't know your full story...

i do know that there have been a few requests for you to fill out your timeline.

please do so, then we might have a better understanding on what is going on.

the namecheck is based on the I-485.

our interviewer approved my I-130 at the interview, but the I-485 was still pending namecheck. six weeks later we just received notice that the I-485 was complete, namechecks were through and the greencard is on its way.

Sand - there are several people who recently went for AOS interview and have their I-130's pending. Some of which you responded to their threads. Probably best to follow their experiences, however security clearances and namechecks are a difficult thing to pattern after.

It just mean they took your I-94 nothing else....

I know you are looking for someone to say to you... "yeh you will get your card in the next few weeks" but we cant say that as we all know from expirence that FBI namecheck can hold up approval for a few weeks to well over a year...
