there is a question on g325 for name in native language..

All my cetificates are in english but i have few identity cards which have my name in my regional language.

Do i have to mention that on G325A.How relevant is this

Note that it asks for your name in your native alphabet, if different from Roman/English; it does not ask for your name in your native language. There's a distinction, as your native alphabet may be different from Roman/English, but your name in your native language may be transliterated to use Roman characters.

So the question boils down to this:

Would you normally (i.e. in your country/region of origin) use an alphabet different from Roman/English to write your name?

If yes, write your name in your native alphabet in the appropriate field on G-325A.

For example if you're Russian, write your name using the Cyrillic alphabet.

If you're Thai, write your name using the Thai alphabet.

etc.

That's all they want.

My wife signed it in her native, Thai language.

The question refers to alphabet, not language. It's not the same thing. For instance, France uses the same alphabet we do, so Michelle LeClaire is the name in French. That is the name, even if we might translate it to Mike Clark in English.

Good point! That is correct. How we solved this was actually somewhat simple:

1. I downloaded the Thai alphabet to my laptop from some site on the internet.

2. I had my wife send me an email containing her name in Thai characters, from her computer in Thailand

3. When I received her email, because I had the Thai fonts installed, I just copied and pasted her signature in to the form.

4. I printed off the form and sent it off, no questions asked.

Yes, that will work but let's not confuse "signature" with "write name in native alphabet". There is a place for each. The signature need not be in the native alphabet or even legible. It's a signature. The name in native alphabet should be readable by anyone who reads that alphabet. I had my wife sign in her native alphabet multiple times on some sticky labels, then cut and affixed them to both signature and name in native alphabet spaces as appropriate.

Since her arrival, my wife has begun signing her name in Roman characters.
