ok if y'all don't remember the previous post.. the owner of the restaurant is a USC!! and.. wow.. supporting a veteran acting like a little b!tch over a flag issue.. as I stated before, what a shame for veterans, being one doesn't mean you can act like a 15 year old teenager and have a fit and go all rambo with a knife and cut the flag... civil disobedience my #######, that's not civil disobedience, I'm hoping he'll get charged.. that guy is a punk and needs to go back to the retirement home.. he seems he got stuck in 'nam or something..

I don't think being American means go and vandalize some dudes property because you don't like it (justifying it as a 'civil disobedience' plizzz) or because you think you're challenging 'an invasion'..

It does go a long way to showing how much prejudice is out there.

Yes it does. It's incredibly strange that anyone thinks what this guy did is ok.

'cus he's in a illegal, they must learn one way or another, we must teach him how to respect America'... and all that bs..

wonder the same thing, why people thing this guy did the 'right thing'

Messed up priorities IMO. Clapping and cheering about a petty, criminal, and ultimately inconsequential act is all well and good, a weird variant on "stick it to the man" I guess. Meanwhile in the real world the issues those people are so concerned are about as far from a solution as ever.

Still - all these douchebags are doing their part right?

Looks like some Southern folk need to learn a little flag etiquette too...

maybe someone should learn their state flags.......and why this one in particular can be flown like that ;)

It's an urban legend (and a completely false one at that!) which says the Texas state flag is allowed to be flown at the same height as the U.S. flag. Don't believe me? That's fine. But maybe you'll believe SNOPES when they say it's "false" too. ;)

As for the other comments in this thread... I see nothing wrong with flying the U.S. flag and another nation's flag at equal heights. You're giving equal respect to both nations. This is done in many places (i.e. universities, hotels, government buildings, etc) and no insult is intended by it at all. I think there are far more important things in the world to worry about today than whose flag is flown higher or whose is larger. In the grand scheme of life, that's trivial.

I would have swore I already pointed that out.

I don't know about the illegality of flying another flag over the american flag but I know for a fact that damaging and then stealing another person's property is against the law.

If this aired on the news there and the american man who was caught on camera damaging that shop owners property and then stealing his flag was not arrested and prosecuted there is something seriously wrong with this.

I don't think the man that took down the flag has anything to worry about. I seriously doubt that the shop owner will press charges over the man taking The american flag. After all. The shop owner has no respect for "our" flag or "our" great nation, or he would not have placed the Mexican flag above ours.

The shop owner definately did not care that the guy walked away with "our" flag. geez

Two thumbs up for the veteran. There needs to be more like him. Especially in our Government.

This video has made me cringe.

Why is there no 'rolling my eyes' emoticon?

There is -- click on the "show all" button on the left (where the emoticons are) and a pop-up window will be displayed. You'll see it there.

OK, found something. Seems it is illegal.

I understand what the guy cutting down the flag was feeling. I'm a black american, a veteran and currently feel my country is being invaded!

Because of the politics of the situation, most people are afraid to stand up and say so. Our country is caught in the middle of being strangled by it's own good intentions and our politicians feel that they can't be in office without chapping their lips on the butts of a very large population of people who are forcing themselves into our living rooms.

I try hard in my life to keep as few 'Politically Correct' bones in my body as possible. To be honest with anyone I meet, follow the laws as best I can and give each person I meet the respect all humans being deserve. This is more than most of this country has done for me growing up, but it has gotten better.

Until there is a solution to this invasion that works for all, but mostly for the citizens of the U.S, the place being invaded, there will continue to be hostility around such little things as the flag incident.

I understand your frustration, you have millions of illegal immigrants from many countries in your country.

However this guys frustration is misguided.

Until people stand up and instruct the Government to DO something, it will not change. As mentioned earlier, partisan parties or not, it is up to the people to speak to their representatives and tell them they want it fixed.

Cutting down a flag of some poor shop owner is not the answer.

Illegal immigration to the U.S. has been going on for years, the Government allowed it to happen. The people that voted in those governments and have not spoken up allowed it to happen.

This isn't the wild west anymore, there is a way to make your voice heard without damaging someone elses property.

Yeah but that's - I'm rolling my eyes and I'm crazy :hehe:

so are you enabling criminals? so much like the 'illegal cheerleading squad'

more like him? more irrational old geezers acting like 15 year old teenage girls? in the government? we have enough with irrational politicians, but you want politicians acting on his guts rather than on what the law says??
