Hello again everyone.

I visit this site daily. After reading thousands of post, I have a few questions that I have wanted to ask for a while now.

What is the RFE trick that so many people talk about on here?

Can someone explain to me what biometrics is?

What is an infopass appointement exactly? When is this needed?

I feel silly for asking these question, but if I don't ask,I will never know. :)

Thanks

Steph

"RFE" is a Request for Further Evidence. It means that what was originally sent with the petition is insufficient to adjudicate it, so they've asked for more information. It could be as simple as a missing document or as complex as having to gather more proof of meeting - it depends on why they need more info. (And sometimes it just means they've lost paperwork and need it again...it happens)

"Biometrics" is the collection of biometric measurements through fingerprints and visual data. So, essentially, being fingerprinted and photographed.

An infopass appointment is an appointment to meet face to face with someone at USCIS. It's not something really useful for K-1 visas, but can be handy for questions during the second half of the process, Adjustment of Status. It's not needed for some people, and not useful for others.
