Some of you may be familiar with Marco - the RBC account manager who is responsible for opening our Centura account.

Sooo I haven't heard from Marco since last Friday, when we spent 1 hour and 25 very boring minutes with him. So I called him today and left a message, not because I wanted to.

Anyway he calls back. Two things, first of all the Centura account should be opened by tomorrow - good - however - they will be mailing our client cards from the U.S. - will they get here before we leave? He asks if he should send them to us at my Sister's address in the U.S..

I ask him, can they not courier them Marco?? He says he doesn't know because he is new to this type of account - however he is going to find out. He never said he would call me back on that.

Anyway, the second component to this account is a visa card, no fee, U.S. dollar. As we previously didn't bank with RBC and we don't have jobs right now, they will kindly give us a U.S. visa (may even give us a $5000 limit woooo hoooo!!), if we cancel our CIBC visa cards (as well as showing them our bank statement from TD, my 2006 tax return, Husband's latest tax return and most recent pay stub).

The whole financial proof thing is ok, the cancelling our CIBC visas is not.

I now realize that the above doesn't really show how annoying Marco is! The fact is he is long winded - the whole credit card conversation - he had to explain to me about exchange rates and bank fees when using your CDN credit card in the U.S. - even after I told him I use mine all the time - etc etc etc.

PS Thanks for that rabbit close up Crikey! I love it and it makes me smile.

Now back to finishing the doggie rant:

How am I supposed to find an apartment downtown with a huge animal?

Cats and small dogs allowed only in most places that do accept pets.

Am I destined to live in this void of culture waste land aka the burbs forever????

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I must be being punished for my negative attitude as of late.

sigh....

And that's one of the reason we will never have dogs.... or live in the burbs. I'm pretty sure both B et moi would die a slow painful where'sthebookstoreandthemuseum death.

Yes, I totally agree.

Give me urban (walk to everything) or give me completely run-around-anywhere-naked-'cos-there's-no-one-around-for-miles rural...solitude.

Ha!

Say that in one breath. Hee, hee.

The doggie is one thing I had not considered when moving here, like, there is Winter (brutally dry and cold) and hot, inhumane humid in the Summer in Chicago, and it is so flat...amongst other issues I am having at the moment.

Go figure.

And I thought I was soooo ssssmarrrrt.

Bah!

I would move to the Westcoast, anywhere on the West Coast in a heartbeat.

Mountains, the Pacific, mmmmm....waaaaahhhh I miss Vaaaaaaaannnncouuuuuuuverrrrrrrrrr...and living on a boat.

I freakin' HATE the suburbs.

They are the death of me.

They turn me into the demon of all demons.

My spirit has been dying a slow and painful death.

And having noticed that, and all that comes with that, including fighting with my sweetheart (sigh), and being frustrated with EVERYTHING, me and my run-on sentences, I tried the super shift this afternoon.

Hey even the sun came out. B)

AND

I may have found us a perfect home, although not as cheap as I'd like it.

Can you have everything???

Where would you put it?

It is a coach house! :star: :star: :star:

A darling historic coach house close to the Lake and in the most coveted of neighbourhoods. (No, I will not drop the "u".)

I will see it tomorrow during the day unless my honey has the energy to drive downtown this eve.

That is my good news and THAT DAMNED wallpaper is STILL A NIGHTMARE.

Although I have put a great dent in it.

That is AWESOME, Spirit. I hope you get it. And congrats on making a dent in the evil wallpaper. Die, wallpaper, die. (Can you tell I've had to remove wallpaper in my past life?)

Well, I had a doctor's appt. tonight and actually managed to write myself a note to remember to ask the doc about the brain fog. I was so proud that I remembered that and was thinking, oh goody the brain fog is less today... until I missed the exit to the doctor's office and had to drive another 10 minutes to the next exit before I could turn around!!!

He said that he feels the fog is due to lack of sleep. He called it "placenta brain". He did not think it was a lack of nutrients. On the plus side, recent test results have come back good .... iron is fine, etc. But sadly, I guess I need to just learn some ways to cope with the fact that I am an idiot nowadays!!! Today, my 11 year old client was even commenting on how much I was repeating myself in session. Argh :(

 Classic. I literally laughed out loud.

BTW.... if you are not pregnant but still suffering from lack of sleep, is it still called 'placenta brain'? Because, seriously..... I don't get much sleep but I.... uhhhh...... oh wait.... ummmm.... what were we just talking about?

LOL Crikey .... I believe it is called baby brain or mommy brain then ... and who knows HOW long it can last!

My doctor told me he suffers a little from placenta brain because he deals with them all the time. I guess he is an honorary placenta brain sufferer.

I can understand approvals of people who applied after me, but applications submitted 4 months after mine?!?! ####### it doesn't even seem to be a DCF. I just am cursed.

BTW, no, no plans to celebrate birthday over the weekend either. There is no one to celebrate with... The only people I know are people I work with and well... I spend enough time with them as it is.

I hope you get the new place Spirit!

I actually had a house once where the wallpaper was so firmly attached that the walls had to be removed (no i'm not exaggerating)!

It got to the point where I was literally throwing buckets of water at the wall

Oh my...people were venting yesterday I see!

trailmix....I'd tell Marco "sure!". then don't rip up those CIBC visa's...wait until you see how much the limit is at least!

Delicia...happy belated birthday! I reiterate..may this be the best year ever! (F)

Spirit...congrats on maybe finding the ideal place! It sounds so nice! Let us know how this progresses!

autumnchick...there was a special on 60 Minutes on Sunday about sleep deprivation that was really interesting! Maybe go on-line and see if you can view it. It was incredible to see what happens to your mind, and body, with just shortening your sleep by 1 or 2 hours a night. Amazing!

Crikey...I don't know when I've laughed so much reading your Betty story.:lol:

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to worry, Delicia. I'm sure their application will be held up for something else at another juncture. I find things tend to even out in the long run. As for your birthday.... lol at the bolded bit. Give yourself a present! A massage or a pedicure or a new pair of earrings.... but have them wrapped. Then head down to the local coffee shop, buy yourself a slice of cake, stick a candle in it and sing happy birthday to me. Then tell yourself to make a wish and blow out the candle. Bring out the beautifully wrapped gift, clap your hands and say "Oooh, a gift!" Then unwrap it and ooh and aah over the lovely earrings, and tell yourself you shouldn't have. Or go to the local restaurant where they give you your dinner for free if it's your birthday, and make them clap and sing to you! You can also order a piece of cake there and replay the coffee shop scenario!!!!!

(And my husband wonders why I don't go out and make new friends. Ha. I have far too much fun with me.)

Look at you up so late. Did packing have anything to do with it?

As for wallpaper.... I found that hiring professionals worked just great for me. :innocent:

No, I was playing world of warcraft

For some reason I feel kind of guilty that I'm not spending more time packing. We have planned to go and pack up our spare room like 3 days in a row and it hasn't been done. Now my Husband has to go out today as the 2nd cat carrier we purchased is in at Sears and we want to get it now so she can get used to it.

- Have to return the other one we bought, get cra refund cheque from my Mom's place, go to the bank, go to the RBC and deposit some money in the new account etc etc.

We really need a personal assistant to do errands and phone calls for like 2 hours a day so we can play world of warcraft pack more :hehe:
