OMG Trailmix, I'm so glad YOU said it.

It is getting out of hand...all of it...hahaha.

I was contemplating starting and off off topic thread for Canada...anew.

This thread and the vent thread are now officially warped beyond, uhm, repair.

Do what you will people...especially you morning coffee people who are here saying hi and all that, and I am although up and about and doing stuff, not conscious before double digits really.

:hehe:

As for a recipe thread, please would someone start it besides me?

I cannot be out buying flour and shtuff right now, as I am about to hit another whirlwind.

I would love them for near future reference though...and I can add some later.

Ahem, yeah, well, it's too early for real substance, but I've got one:

(a vent)

(No offense to people here in this darling Canada Forum.)

Why why why do people call their SO's the hubby, the wife, the girlfriend, the boyfriend....??

The is inappropriate for anyone you actually like...let along supposedly love.

It is disrespectful and totally unconscious for the most part I'm sure.

It bugs me.

Yeah yeah, I do need to make my yummy cuppa-coffee...

Here. Another vent:

Google takes on Wikipedia.

Buggers!

I love Google for so many reasons, and do they have to "own" everything?!!!

Yes, I think they do.

I really like wikipedia and have added this and that at times, however! As much as I think that wikipedia is rather amazing in that it's a lovely group effort that seems to work quite well, it's a bit of a worry that people think it is the gospel of knowledge.

I was speaking to a woman here in Calgary one day, from Heritage Park (I had called them to ask about some information on their website that I knew to be wrong - yes I know that sounds pretentious, but in context it wasn't - but anyhoo).

The woman said to me " But on Wikipedia it says....". Well Wikipedia was wrong!! I said - "you do know that wikipedia can be edited by ANYONE". Anyway, needless to say, I don't think she really got it.

Another person I know, her boyfriend would not believe that anyone could edit so she went in to this page on this little town and put all these personal references in to prove it.

There we go, a little rant about the limitations of wikipedia.

I agree. I've heard it all (ball and chain, battle axe, bird poo in my bird bath  , you name it). I realize it's supposed to be a term of endearment but unless you are close to the person with whom you are conversing, it's uncouth and inappropriate and plain disrespectful. I think that it is OK to use your SO's proper name, but condescending ####### (prom queen, Hercules, Mr. Viagara) is not. This only applies to polite company. Please don't get me started on the whole familiarity breeds contempt bit. I'd go on but I'm starting to get a bit tense, and that's not a good thing.

Quick question, bread maker or old skool? One is much easier and the other is a much better way to relieve one's tension, what sayeth you?

One more thing, Google don't be messing with my Wikipedia.

Oliver has enjoyed most of my experiments =)

It was meant for off topic!
