OK now it turns out I don't have enough effing sugar to bake an apple bread (yes I bake, and will deny it in front of colleagues ) and refuse to walk to Fred Meyers to get some. I will try plan B, blackmail Bren with the promise of sex in the living room and see if he falls for it... after all, he's the one who eats the bread.

AND since the Lutheran boy only likes whole wheat #######, makes the baking insane ---- substitute 2 cups of all-purpose for 1 of whole wheat and 1 of all-purpose blah blah blah DARN IT I don't have all-purpose enough, either....

People on these boards who answer a question in a thread after it's already been up for days and the question has been answered at least 10 times over. Why state the EXACT same information when it's clearly already there?!?!

I agree 100%. Or when they answer completely out of context, not bothering to really read the original post.

I always think 2 or 3 answers (to ensure it's REALLY true) is great, but I know exactly what you mean.

Apple bread, hmmm, thinking about it - it seems an obvious choice! I have never had it, never made it, you would think apple bread would be a really popular thing....strange.

I did make pumpkin bread a few times, recipe from Good Eats - now that's good stuff.

I don't like whole wheat bread, but I love cracked wheat bread. Wheat bread is good for you and well...I'm cracked.

BTW, apple bread does sound good.

I'm sorry.. but some people's "ideas" about humor in Off Topics is disgusting.. As someone who survived abuse, the posts that some find "funny" are horrific and violent. Makes me wonder what kind of people some posters are at home (and fear for their spouses). I think what you find funny defines what kind of person you are... Sad indeed.

This is the part that worries me sometimes too -- some folks are so misogynous that makes you wonder how they treat their spouses at home, eh? God bless I married an academic that has read more than comics , is aware of the world around him and knows that there's no space for porn in our house (bookshelves way too full as is)

I haven't been in Off Topic in months. I refuse to go back. And I agree about those that think abuse is funny, making jokes and sh!t. I was abused by my ex, mentally and physically. I sure as h3ll didn't find anything funny about it. Granted, I survived, but I haven't forgotten. The physical scars have healed but the mental ####### takes a very long time. It wouldn't do at all for me to read that particular thread...I'm afraid Towanda would take over and those idjits would get a verbal tongue lashing of the likes they've never known.

See, even Southern Belles can be unladylike when necessary.

On the baking discussion:

I bake...love it...and thank goodness my sweet Joel can cook too! I love the smell of bread baking, smells so cozy. It's great to have a man that definately knows his way around the kitchen too. Sometimes I even get to sit and watch him cook! Love it!
