well, there is definitely still something wrong with the car.. so back it goes tomorrow...

what's it doing?

it still wants to overheat .... and the car just drives funny.. the engine is sounding really rough.... and when I stop at red lights etc.. it idles really rough, almost sounds like the car is going to stall...

sounds like something wasn't put back together right. timing may be off, head work coulda been crappy, and it sounds like overall they still didn't fix the overheating problem to begin with (remember me mentioning the clutch fan?).

Do people not do research? Do people not READ?

what did you say?

I went out at lunch today because I had a bunch of errands to run. When I pulled into the parking structure, there was a car behind me, almost tailgating me. I normally park on the 5th floor because I don't like people parking near my car. But, I was in a bit of a rush to get back to work because i'm swamped, so I took the closest parking spot to the stairs as I could on the 3rd floor. Well, after I parked, I noticed that the car that was behind me had stopped. The lady in the car rolled down her window and says : "I park there every day, could you please park somewhere else, that is my parking spot". I was shocked for a minute, and all I could say was "your spot?". We don't have assigne parking spots here, so she was just being a dumbass. I started to walk back to my car, and I think she got the impression that I was going to move my car. I went to the front of my car, and looked down at the cement slab at the end of the parking space. I went back to where she was and I said "I don't see your name on the parking spot". She reiterated that this was where she parked every day. My reply was "That's nice, maybe you can get it again tomorrow". She got really pissed off and drove off rather pissed. I was going to go back to work, but then had these visions of a deranged loon keying my nice car up. So I stood back and waited til she entered the elevator to go down. Some people.......

Now, I contemplated making a conscious effort to park in "her" spot going forward...... but this is Los Angeles, and you never know with some of the wackos out there

well we brought it back the shop and explained the situation and then my husband asks the guy if they had taken it for a test drive and the guy said " yeah for like 10 miles" but he sounded like he was lying... the problems with the car now are very noticeable.. I noticed them as soon as I drove the car when we picked it up.. and I guess I should have returned it right then but I needed the car for work.. I already had missed 2 days and I didn't want to miss more

I always write down the mileage onthe car when i drop it off, that way I know if they did take it out!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

They probably fibbed to you. Do you have to pay again or they better fix it for free this time!

yeah I am thinking they did too.. it was jsut the way he said it.. it didn't sound truthful.. I think they meant to take it for a test drive but didn't get around to it...

no, we shouldn't have to pay again.....most of the stuff they did is covered for a year or two....

Yes the area is great! No stress, no lines, etc. I can go grocery shopping any time of the week and I don't have to sit in traffic.

I'm not sure who the builder was. It was built 2005 and we were the second owner.

The taxes though are low comparatively to what people pay in essex/union county. We are paying $5,600.00 and I think my father law is paying about 10K in Hillside.

But then again I have no yard because it doesn't belong to me so..

What a ripoff for living in Hillside. I'm not knocking Hillside, wait yes I am :P

My taxes went up to near 7k. On a townhouse along that massively congested I-287 corridor from Bridgewater to Edison. I can go to the grocery without hitting traffic, a bakery and a quick chek... but not much else

My husband is the GM of the Applebees in the Woodbridge Mall so he takes 287 every day. He says it's actually not that bad when he goes but his hours are weird.

The only thing that sucks by me is the closest mall is bridgewater and its about 25 minutes away. I like Bridgewater though. I used to work in Edison before I started at MSU.

And yes, living in hillside is a rip. 10K to live beside Newark, Irvington and Elizabeth. I hated living with him for almost a year. I was scared out of my mind half the time.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Rebate forms

So I got a new computer - which my Husband built, he got some ram and we got new monitors - this equates to 6 rebates.

As I said to him this morning, as I was trying to fill them out, they have made it so complicated that it is just short of someone filing a lawsuit against them. You have to do all the usual stuff - make sure it is within the date parameters, both for purchase and mailing but for 2 of them you have to:

- Ensure the rebate code matches what you purchased - 1 rebate code can match up to 4 different options

- Go online and fill in all your details

- Print the rebate form from the website

- Cut out the little mailing label on the form and stick it to the envelope

- Cut the UPC panel off the packaging

- Send a copy of the receipt

- Although we have 2 rebates from the same manuf. we have to put them in separate envelopes

I noticed when I was doing the second one, online, that for $3.00 they will send it within a week of getting the physical papers - otherwise it takes 8-10 weeks. I didn't see it the first time so I guess we are paying them $3.00 to do their job.

Then my printer wouldn't print the rebate forms

I have to create a step by step manual for coworkers today because they don't know how to do something, and even though I showed them, they want a manual. So I am making one in Word and I am using stars - smileys and maybe I'll throw a rainbow in too.

I have step by step screen shots as well. I wish I had some cardstock and I could print it out and make one of those tot board books.

After they understand they'll all get a sticker.

I was taught how to do this in 5 minutes yesterday, its not complicated. Sometimes I wonder if all the gas fumes in NJ has done something to their brains.

sounds like my parents...

once I tried teaching them how to use the timer on the oven , like where you can set it up to turn the oven on at a certain time... I explained step by step and they just couldn't get it.... I even wrote it out step by step and they still didn't get it... I couldn't understand what their problem was.. it was so simple, you just set the time you wanted the oven to turn off and then set how long whatever you were cooking needed to cook... I think they thought it should be complicated and couldn't wrap their head around it :P ...lol

That's funny, I was going to say don't put stars in the document, you can give them a gold star after they learn it

Oh and then I get an email from my mom saying: "I still haven't told your uncle he can't come down... I don't know what to say"

This is NOT my problem. It shouldn't be my problem and I told her I didn't want him to come. I think she thinks I'll change my mind, but the last time I looked it up in the "Rules and manners of life" you don't just go inviting yourselves to peoples places.

Why is this even an issue still? I have turned the page on this subject and she keeps bringing it up.

She hasn't even arrived and I am already counting the days until she leaves because already she's driving me nutty. :P
