I always feel bad staying home from work. I did yesterday and felt like a wuss. I can honestly say that I feel like S*hite though!

Ah well, I guess my bad luck strikes again about the tax credit. Worst part is, my bridezilla-in-law will be eligible for it. Why oh why must my luck be so bad. haha

NOOOOOO!!!! :girlwerewolf2xn:

I hope you feel better, maybe you can sneak out early if you still feel crappy.

Phil was diagnosed with depression yesterday. I guess that is part of why he's been so convinced that he's going to get fired despite the fact that work has given him no indication that they have a problem with his work. The negativity that is part of depression leads to irrational thoughts like that.

I feel so bad about it because it's partially my fault. In addition to his fears about the recession, he's got the stress of getting used to a new wife that is herself getting used to a new country.

~ Catherine

So sorry to hear that Catherine, but rest assured it's NOT your fault. Don't feel guilty or blame yourself, depression can be caused by a number of things. Is he going to see a therapist? (F)

Catherine.. believe me.. it's not someone's fault.. it's a huge mix of many different things, most likely many being chemicals and brain stuff.. I've suffered from depression a few times in the past, and it's no one's fault hon, and can come on months after events or circumstances that are stressful and trying.. Meds help so much and just talking and just walking through it.. you are there to support him, no need for guilt..

Exactly. Not your fault at all, Catherine. Depression can strike for all sorts of reasons but is part and parcel of wacky serotonin levels. Just be there for him and make sure he talks things out with you. Make sure he gets the help he needs.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Ah, hello Vent!

So I'm sick with strep throat. It's yummy in my mouth right now. :D

Also, when we did our taxes a few weeks ago we filed for the Federal First Time Home Buyer's credit. It is a $7500 credit which you must pay back to the federal government over the next 15 years. Basically, they take $500 from your tax return every year for the next 15.

Well, we just found out that with the stimulus bill, if you buy a house starting Jan. 2009, the First Time Home Buyer's Credit is not only increased to $8,000, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY IT BACK.

So, we closed our house Dec. 10th...it we would have waited, we would have been 8 grand the richer.

Oh yeah..

And I'm sick. and at work. and my head is going to explode.

If you're taking antibiotics (which you probably are since it's strep), make sure to eat yogurt. Antibiotics kill off bacteria, both good and bad. Yogurt helps to replenish the "good" bacteria to some degree. It's not perfect, but it can help and it's better than doing nothing.

Antibiotics are one of the main reasons women get yeast infections. Bacteria naturally keep fungal infections at a minimum, but with the removal of all bacteria, these fungal infections can occur easily.

For the record, fungal infections due to antibiotics can happen to men too (it's simply less common). I took antibiotics for strep throat, ignored the yogurt and got candidiasis in my mouth and throat. I had to get some orally-applied fungal medication.

Some of those public service announcements were a little freaky. I remember one where this kid was about to drink bleach (or whatever) and out of nowhere, Roadblock appeared outside the kid's window. I don't know about you, but that would scare me!

Today was a really bad day. I think it just started off bad and got worse... just non stop go go go and being at everyones beck and call... which is my job but when everyone is coming at you about different things, getting mad about things they told you do, and making a big deal out of such small and fixable issues... it gets to ya. :P

Oh well the hard part of the day is over.

Yay wine! :D

Donne moi une poptart!
