OMG, I am ready to tear out my hair with that thread! Arrogant butt-hole. I'm glad MrsCat inserted that little humour post. It prevented me from scratching out his eyeballs.

Yeah, I actually started to read it again but started getting mad again so decided to stop

I think we can be thankful that he is only 'Dr Immigration' and not a medical doctor - there is some solace in that.

As well as a "VJ veteran"..... from way back in July 2008, no less. Woot!

Or better yet I blame his Japanese friend.

i always thought emancipation was a she

was I wrong in this assumption?

I think you're right. I don't know why I have this problem... I thought trailmix was a guy for the longest time too.

I am sorry emancipation, you can kick me in the shins if you feel like it. :D

Wow, what a condescending A-Hole. If you ever run into someone like that again on here, i'd suggest the following pic. It says all that needs to be said.

That same individual has been rather obnoxious in other threads in other forums as well. Some people just seem to be very full of themselves - or maybe it is something else they are full of and just don't want others to find out. (MEEEEEOOOOOOWWWWW)

Edited by Kathryn41

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Every single work day I am up about 20 minutes before the alarm rings. It SUCKS! I think I am subconsciously afraid of sleeping in but still, I could use that twenty minutes! I don't even know what it is like to have the alarm wake me up anymore because I am always up well before it goes off.

Uh oh two vents back to back..

Anyhoo, my husband and brother in law want to attend the inauguration. I have safety concerns and am not quite willing to bring my 10 year old son there. Our friend is a cop in D.C and works in a downtown precinct and told us to brace for insane crowds and apparently they're not even opening the mall up until 7:00 am to avoid people sleeping overnight and stuff. Apparently its going to take hours to take a subway around because of the crowds. In general it just seems like a bad idea to me. But I feel like if I decide not to go I'll be ruining a good time for everyone else. My son wants to go and keeps telling me that he won't have to pee and will empty his tank. But those are the things a parent thinks of... what if my son has to go? How will I get out of the crowd and get back in?? Seriously its one my main concerns.

I am torn. I am unsure.

My son freaks out when he has to go and we're on the road and are 15 miles from the next rest stop. I could see us getting there and finally being settled and then my son has to go to the bathroom. Its the snowsuit theory... get the snowsuit on and THEN they decide to piss.

Why do people on VJ, feel the need to take a personal swipe at you when you answer with your own opinion?

Someone asks a question, you reply - someone takes a swipe - because they feel they know everything.

This is of course directed at one person in particular that ticks me off on a regular basis....i'm tickkkkkkkkkkkkkedddddddddddddddd.

I've been guilty of this on other forums, but those are forums for online video games. On here though, people come for help and advice, and I really don't see the need. Internet trolls and flamers are just ridiculous on this forum (outside of the off-topic forum).

Oh no! Does this mean that you're an elitist jerk? Do you type posts with the word "e-peen" in them? It can be very hard not to laugh at some of the arguments that happen on game forums. People just can't seem to tell that the other person is just trying to get a rise out of them.

What games do you play?

There is NOOOOO way I plan to head down to the Mall for the Big event!! Staying as far away as possible!1 Going to be a zoo around here. Talking of closin gmain roads off, maybe 4 to 5 million people!! No thanks! Talk about a prime time for a terrorist attack!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

What!? You'd be part of history! If I lived closer I'd go. I don't know that I'd take my child however. Nev, could you not go with your husband and be back by the time your son got home from school?

Bah, I posted and it didn't post, VJ is really slow loading for me today.

Anyway Sprailenes, i'm with you on this one.

Since you will probably be a mile away from the ceremony anyway though, why not be 2 miles away where there might be facilites and it might not be as hard to get there (if you really want to be there for the historic moment).
