argh..

so we bought ourselves a new to us car about a month ago and one of the conditions with the finance company is that we have to get full insurance coverage on it which we did the very day we bought the car... and the dealer asked us to send him proof of insurance which the insurance company did.. we assumed the dealer would forward this information on to the finance company.. so life went on for us...

well, just over a week ago we get a letter from the finance company saying we have til December 15th to send them proof of insurance or else we have to get insurance through them which costs over 200 bucks :o so right then and there I called the insurance company and they said they were working on it and would have it to the finance company by last Wednesday or Thursday...

so low and behold when I checked the mail today there was another letter from the finance company with a big FINAL NOTICE stamped on it and it said that they still hadn't received the insurance confirmation and that they extended the deadline to the 26th... at first I thought maybe they sent out the letter before they received the insurance confirmation but then I looked at the date of the letter and it was dated the 8th.. :o

so I called the insurance company again but the lady said she was busy with a client and would call me back when she was done that was about an hour ago :o and I assuming they are probably closing soon if they haven't already  I guess I will have to try and call again in the morning...

Marilyn,

Would you be allowed to send the proof of insurance yourself? That insurance lady is incompetent! I hope you get it solved quickly!

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

I was just getting some cereal and I was going to have some fibre one and I usually mix it with something else, so I picked up a piece of it, ate it and thought hmm that actually tastes pretty sweet. So I look at the nutrition label and it says 0 calories from sugar hmm

I read through the list - it has aspartame in it! bah. I threw the rest in the garbage.

I'm no food purist, but I don't like aspartame (usually it gives me a headache - normally I never get headaches - but I have had quite a few since moving here).

This moving thing is just too much...

We move in 2 days. I have only 1 box packed because I've been having a major chronic fatigue flareup for the past 2 weeks. My back is already hurting and I've barely done anything. On top of this, I call the water company to get the water turned on, and they tell me that there's a $130 deposit!!! This is on top of the $45 gas deposit, the $20 transfer fee from the cable company, and the $20 charge for changing my phone # (which I am forced to do; I don't even have a choice).

And if that wasn't enough, something is broken either under the dishwasher (that hasn't worked right in over 2 years) or the sink because there is water leaking all over the floor.

I can't handle all this.

08/25/06 - 08/08/07 - K1 timeframe from mailing the petition to the NSC to K1 approval at the Montréal Consulate

08/31/07 - Réjean makes the big move to the USA

02/04/09 - Our best friends bail us out by giving us the money to file for the replacement green card!

02/12/09 - E-filed I-90 for the replacement green card along with the $370 filing fee (including biometrics)

02/19/09 - NOA1

02/25/09 - Biometrics appointment

05/01/09 - Replacement green card received

I'm grumpy! I woke up this morning and the entire left side of my face is swollen like a chipmunk! It is very uncomfortable and looks ridiculous. From what I've read, I'm guessing it's a tooth abscess that is causing it. I'm sooooo scared of dentists! I hate paying someone lots of money to cause pain, but I guess I have to head to the dentist now. I can't go to my regular dentist because he is located downtown, and since there is a full public transit strike in Ottawa (great timing on that, by the way...) and we just had a huge snowstorm, there is no chance of me being able to find parking anywhere, so I'll have to go to a different dentist, which I guess isn't that bad. Also, the traction control and ABS on my car are broken, and that makes driving in the snow even less fun than it already is. And I don't think I can really take my car in now, because then I'll have no way to get anywhere. Boooo-urns. But on the bright side, at least I'm off work today and tomorrow, so I don't have to go to work looking half like a chipmunk. I think I'm done venting now.

He's a woodworker so he's always completely exhausted by the time he comes home. Plus he's been dealing with severe wisdom tooth pain for the past week or so. Last night he didn't even sleep at all. :( Of course we don't have dental insurance (although he finally has health insurance from work, thank goodness) and can't afford anything right now, so what's a person to do?

Oh blah! I hear you, he obviously isn't in a great position to help with his wisdom tooth situation, poor guy.

I don't know how you pack - so hopefully what i'm going to say will be helpful, if not, you are reading it and it took your mind off packing for 4 mins!

Right now all you need to do is get from point A to point B. To accomplish this everything has to be in 'something'. All soft goods can be thrown in a garbage bag (forget about this for your clothes that are hanging up - just throw them in the back of the car on their hangers)

As for other stuff, if you have the cash to buy totes, buy as many as you need and just toss everything in totes. If not, or you are using boxes - start tossing stuff in.

As long as you maintain some semblence of order, you will be fine (ie all knives forks and other utensils in one box - throw the eating utensils in a freezer bag first so you don't have to rewash them).

Glass goods need care - but other than that, just start tossing stuff in!

You can sort it all out later, in your own time.

Awww Necrotica .... (L)

Are there any universities nearby that have a dental school? When I was in grad school, I got really inexpensive dental care at the dental school clinic .... I just had to let a student work on my teeth :)

That's exactly what the plan is, minus the totes. We have very, very little money right now, and this $130 deposit has got us freaking out badly.
