we can never freakin catch a break

so we were all happy about our new car yesterday... and then my hubby leaves for work this morning and I get a call a little while later and he says he is at the gas station and the car won't start ...

the tow truck came and jumped it and it started but we think something is either wrong with the battery or the electrical...

as someone pointed out to me today, it is just a car.. but it really isn't the car that I am upset about.. I just hate that whenever things start to look up something happens...

Awww Marilyn I'm sorry! Hopefully it's something relatively small. It's not that old of a car, and the dealer is going to fix it. I hear you though, sometimes ####### seems to happen all the time, and you figure "when are we going to get a break!!" I usually try to focus on all of those people that aren't as lucky as me when that happens. Sometimes we can get too self absorbed. Just what works for me.

Saying 'it's just a car' is not helpful!!

Sorry to hear this Marilyn! I just posted in off topic that I hope you have many many years of happy driving in your new car - and I do - it's probably just a glitch and will be fixed today

bah! bad news here too! At BB's house he doesnt have a full basement, just a crawlspace under the whole house. Down there we have a pump in case of flooding and all the heating ducts, plumbing etc is down there as well. On Saturday I heard some weird gurgling noises in the shower and the sink, and went to check it out, and under our washer and dryer, a pipe was gushing out all the water the washer was using! At that point I forgot about the other noises and thought it was only because of the washer. Yesterday we investigated and every time we use the water, the pumbing down there leaks bad...and water drips out every time we shower now under the whole floor of the bathroom! Our house is older and nice, but slowly but surely we're finding out that all the "nice" things are just band-aid fixes to modernize the house, but none of the structural fixtures were updated at all! GRRRRRRRRR Thank god we're just renting! Landlords dealing with it right now thankfully!

ok so my hubby just called .. they told him to be there at 10 am today.. it is 10:30 and no one is there.. he got there before 10am...

he can't wait any longer because he has to go to work...

he says the car starts fine now.. he has been turning off the alarm.. he thinks there might be something wrong with the alarm and that it is draining the battery...

ok so hubby just called again and said right after he hung up with me earlier the guy showed up and they took it to a mechanic and he said it was the battery... the dealer paid for the battery so that is good..

we will see if that is the problem I guess, hopefully it is....

I'm having a royally shite day..

Called DoS again...STILL nothing...I know people have waited a lot longer for interviews, i'm just cranky..

But my main vent is about UPS...

So when I was down in September, I took my engagement ring to the jewellry store to have it checked for problems. It had to be done 6 months afterthe purchase, and it was needed to keep the lifetime warrenty active on the ring. The woman noticed that the diamond was loose in the setting, so she said she had to send it away to the crafter to get it tightened. SHe said it would be at least a week. So I had to leave before it was done. Bo was going to send it up (insured of course) when he sent me the papers I need for the interview. So he went in today and the worker said that he needed additional paperwork because the ring was over 3,000$. He asked what he needed...and she didnt know. So her supervisor told her to call UPS in Canada to see what the requirements were...

They said

"Nope, you can't send it at all"

Uhh...pardon?

"Nothing with a value over 500.00$ can be sent to Canada"

####### IS THIS #######?!

I've known people to send their rings halfway across the world, but these idiots wont let it cross the Canadian border?!

I want my ring :( I have no idea when I will be down there, we are too broke to travel before the move...(ie not able to spend Xmas together - whole 'nother vent entirely).

Alright, 'm good for now.

Jen
