I don't like getting into political discussions with people, even my friends. The only one that doesn't get heated is my husband so if I have anything to say I talk to him or my parents really. My friends have such strong beliefs that it seems they are unable to listen. So I just shy away from most of it really. I don't like to get combative over things that people have a right to believe.

Yar, I definitely feel the same way. The only two people I can really talk to about politics is my husband and his grandmother. My MIL gets incredibly heated up over minor details in politics, so we try to avoid talking about it at the dinner table when I can't escape. Generally I just avoid the subject altogether, because I never know what response I'm going to get from the person I'm speaking to and how combative they're going to be.

Travel/Work approval notices via email – April 23rd, 2008

Green card/residency card: email notice of approval – August 28th, 2008 yippeeeee!!!

Funny-looking card arrives – September 6th, 2008 :)

Mailed request to remove conditions – July 7, 2010

Landed permanent resident approved – August 23rd, 2010

Second funny looking card arrives – August 31st, 2010
