My mom used to take my brothers to a natural path. I never needed it though so I haven't had had much experience with them. Do they just try to treat you with natural remedies?

Yes, they will usually try to give you a long treatment of homeopathy. You should look into it, especially if your insurance covers it!

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

Okay, I am going to sound totally paranoid with this rant - but I swear no hyperbole here.

Hubby thinks I'm being paranoid - but his mail is making it here.

 Weird.. Your maiden name is on your mailbox/slot right?

Here's my rant for today..

I'm behind on one of my CDN bills.. I'm not proud of that.. I'm making smaller than minimum payments, but trying to make them whenever I can.. of course they call me about it - last night, and I picked up the phone (I'm not going to run from it). This bully kid is on the phone and after everyone of my questions says.. yeah but everyone is feeling a pinch right now so why does that make it any different for YOU? Yeah well, you were making your payments before so why can't you now? (after I JUST told the guy WHY I couldn't make my payments as before). EVERYTHING I said he dismissed and was obnoxious about.. and goes on and on about how I'm in default and it's a legal contract and pulling out the big ugly cards like I am just ignoring my responsibilities blah blah blah...so because I know "call center rules". I said - "I do not wish to discuss this with you any further please let me speak to your supervisor. (Magic words in case anyone ever needs them). So he gets all panicked then and says "why do you need to speak with my supervisor? We can deal with this" and I said "no we can't, I don't wish to discuss this with you any further and please let me speak with your supervisor".. then he got angry and said "why won't you talk with me?" and I said "because you are belligerent and I'm not talking about this with you any further", so he puts me on hold and goes to get his supervisor (who apparently was in a meeting or just didn't want to talk to me".. so the kid comes back and says "my supervisor is in a meeting" and I said "great! Well whenever he/she is out of the meeting have them call me.' so then he goes on this tirade about how he can help me, and he doesn't understand why I won't talk with him , blah blah blah.. and I basically had to cut him off and say.. listen, I'm not comfortable speaking with you any more about this, have someone - ANYONE else call me but you and I will speak with them about it, and I had to HANG UP! BAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

Frustration! I have NEVER been treated like that by CIBC.. NEVER... i had ONE other instance last year when I had trouble paying, and they were accommodating and understanding and helpful.. this guy was a COMPLETE go for the throat guy.. geesh..

That is terrible, E. There is only so much they can do and say to you as well. I always think...when you have moved countries..what are they going to do to you? Would eventually they press charges against you if you didn't pay? I dont think they can do that, right? Any ways, I hope it gets better soon and you aren't hassled by any more bullies.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Ok, I just have to let it out. Had my interview last Friday and was told that my visa would be mailed on Monday. It's now Friday and still nothing. I know, it hasn't been long and the Consulate's website says it can take from three to five business days for papers to be mailed. Grrrrrrrrr. Haven't I waited long enough yet on this thing? Geez, we had to file in CA, the slowest of them all. We filed in January and had to wait all this time to finally get my interview in October. Under normal circumstances I'd be doing fine but this looooooong wait has just used up my patience I guess. Also, my fiance is coming to pick me up with his truck and trailer, meaning the more things are delayed, the more we risk having to drive through snow. This is driving me nuts. Can I please get my visa so I can move before the snow gets here? I'm soooo tired of waiting and being unable to do anything. *long sigh*

Emancipation - Just saw your post. What a pain having to deal with individuals like that. I sure hope you can resolve that soon. Glad to see you talked to someone more pleasant today.

trailmix - Me too!!! I keep my fingers and toes crossed, hoping that it will.

I ordered my long-form birth certificate from Nova Scotia vital statistics a month ago. I paid the extra courier fee and checked the box to have email confirmation when it was sent. The website says they send it within ten business days. It's Oct. 24th and I've had no calls or emails.

I just got off the phone with them. Apparently, there was a problem with my stating that Bermuda was my father's place of birth. Well, why did they ask for my daytime contact information if they weren't going to bother to call when there's a problem!?! To make matters worse the woman couldn't believe that my father could have been born in Bermuda. News flash lady, some people aren't born in Canada!

grrrrr.....

Ugh, how frustrating. I'll never get used to banking in my little suburb. A few months ago, we did a wire transfer from my husband's account to my account in Vancouver - the CSR was really helpful in getting that sorted out, including calling my Canadian bank to get the complicated details sorted out.

We went to do the same thing today, only from our joint account at another bank. The lady there was completely unhelpful in getting the codes needed for the wire transfer, and refused to call my bank when I couldn't tell her what the codes were. So I went home and called up my bank myself. Now it's too late to get the wire transfer done for today, and I have to wait until Monday. Bleh. It's not urgent (just for my student loan payments) but I'm kinda going "#######" right now. Thank goodness it's Friday

Okay, I am going to sound totally paranoid with this rant - but I swear no hyperbole here.

Hubby thinks I'm being paranoid - but his mail is making it here.

 Weird.. Your maiden name is on your mailbox/slot right?

Yup if not in it, you should have it added. I had the same issue with a EI letter, and I had my married name added to the EI and my maiden name added to my mailbox and everything went fine. And the mailman comfirmed to me that they would not deliver mail if the name wasn't corresponding. Which is weird because we got mail from a former resident.... :bonk:

We get the former resident's mail all the time too. The last 3 renters actually. :bonk:

There are no names on our mailbox. No one here has names on their mailbox. But Hubby is stopping by the hardware store to get lettering today per your guy's advice. Hopefully that helps.

We went to the postmaster too yesterday. He said the mail lady had delivered some of my mail to He'epauli street rather than our street on He'e street. How you could confuse He'e with He'epauli is beyond me.

But that only accounts for a few pieces of mail that was returned to the HR department. He was very nice though and accommodating. He was thankful we stopped by to let him know the nature of the mail missing (cheque, SSN, EI information, immigration stuff possibly) since that is something USPS is concerned about.

I might stop by He'epauli street and see the neighbors (they're 2 streets down) and see if they happen to have my mail. Perhaps they have just forgot to return a little more.
