I am so sick and tired of all the phone calls we get with the automated messages- credit card #######, politics #######, car #######, ####### ####### #######.

me too

Register here on the National Do Not Call Registry. You will still get calls from charities and from political campaigners but the other '#######' should stop. https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

If it doesn't stop, then you can report them. If you are not sure who it is you can look up who it is and if other's have complained, here: http://whocalled.us/

And, if you want to know if it is a decent charity and one you might want to consider, you can investigate them here on the Charity Navigator: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=topten

I noticed a substantial decrease in nuisance and solicitation calls after we registered. Good luck.

Thanks!! I'm registered and just waiting for the confirmation email.

Thanks, just did ours too. Wounder how long it will take.

We registered and the calls stopped almost right away; though we still get the occasional charity and stuff.

I'm sorry if I insult anyone.

That is not my intention.

Here's my vent:

What's the deal with thinking god had anything to do with getting a visa?!

No need to answer.

Really.

I just needed to put that in writing.

Well if you're a fatalist them you might opine that it was all ordained, but if the devil is indeed in the details, isn't that guilt by association? I guess a miracle is what you make of it and while most of us could use a few well-placed lightning bolts from the Almighty, getting approved is frequently a miraculous event in itself. :innocent:

I thought that speed was freedom of the soul. A convertible SR-71, never thought of that, might be interesting to have your hair dried at mach 3+. Can't beat that odour of ylang ylang with just a hint of jet fuel. On second thought, it would probably lead to split ends.

Grrrr - another USCIS vent. I check my status online everyday (although why I bother I don't know as there probably won't be any changes there for another year at least!) and it tells me it is time to change my password (the second time to change it since I filed . . . it is frustrating that people who filed at CSC 2 months after me are already getting approved . . . ). So, using the same information I have been using the last 3 months to check my account, I enter my information and my choice for a new password. It tells me that my personal information is invalid. So, I retype everything in case there was a spelling mistake or a wrong case by accident - and it repeats it - it is invalid. It seems to have been irrelevant that the information has been valid the last 3 months! So, I fill out the form to ask them to send me my user name and password that they say are invalid, and I enter my email address and it pops up my security question - what Street did you Grow Up On? I type in the correct answer (there is only one!) and it tells me that is invalid!!! Geesh!! So, I have just sent an email to their webmaster telling them to fix their system. I hate this having to change passwords every 3 months, especially when it seems to be such a hassle every single time. I had to start a whole new account for my I-751 because I couldn't get access to the account I had when going through AOS and I really don't want to have to start another new account. USCIS website must be littered with abandoned accounts because people can't get access to them anymore. (Oh, and I did have another week to go before I had to change the password so that wasn't the problem). GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

That really sucks. Unfortunately, I know how that goes. I had to make a second login account for the AOS application because I couldn't get logged back into the one I had made for the I-129f one! I'll probably have to make a third one for when Réjean applies for removing conditions and a fourth for citizenship!

08/25/06 - 08/08/07 - K1 timeframe from mailing the petition to the NSC to K1 approval at the Montréal Consulate

08/31/07 - Réjean makes the big move to the USA

09/22/07 - MARRIED!

10/09/07 - Réjean gets his SSN

Adjustment of status:

10/26/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP

11/23/07 - Biometrics appointment

12/14/07 - I-485 transferred to the California Service Center

12/28/07 - EAD approved!

01/07/08 - EAD received

02/08/08 - GREEN CARD APPROVED!!!!!!

02/16/08 - Green card received!

*headdesk*:

01/02/09 - Réjean loses his wallet containing his drivers license, Social Security card, and green card

02/04/09 - Our best friends bail us out by giving us the money to file for the replacement green card!

02/12/09 - E-filed I-90 for the replacement green card along with the $370 filing fee (including biometrics)

02/19/09 - NOA1

02/25/09 - Biometrics appointment

05/01/09 - Replacement green card received

Removal of conditions:

01/07/10: Mailed I-751 packet by overnight mail to the CSC

01/11/10: I-751 packet delivered and signed for

01/19/10: Received NOA1

01/28/10: Biometrics (did walk-in due to Réjean being out on the road on original date of 02/10/10)

02/03/10: APPROVED!!!

02/05/10: Received e-mail from USCIS saying the card production has been ordered

02/06/10: Received letter typed on plain paper from USCIS congratulating Réjean on his removal of conditions approval

02/11/10: Green card received

How annoying Kathryn!

You have to wonder at these web people who create these security steps - I mean, my bank doesn't even make me change my password!

Why on earth you would need to change your p/w every 3 months for an online status checker is - well it makes no sense.
